Pro-tip – be prepared to take food to go – as it’s served that way. The pokè restaurant next door is owned by the same person – so you can sit over there and eat – if there’s room. There is a single table to eat outside.
Service can vary a little depending on who’s behind the counter, but overall I’ve always had a good experience here. Definitely a must-try spot if you love fresh seafood and light, flavorful meals!
Two female employees definitely nothing bad to say about them. They were working hard in as fast as they could for each order, but maybe another employee could’ve really helped move this line faster.
The cleanliness here is seriously lacking. The prep surfaces looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in ages—definitely not up to food safety standards. Cross-contamination seemed inevitable. In the 20 minutes I waited to order, I watched the girl behind the counter eat and drink without washing her hands once. Then a guy took out the trash while wearing gloves, came back in, swapped gloves without washing his hands, and immediately started prepping food.
Everything about the space felt unsanitary. The surfaces were visibly dirty, and it was uncomfortably hot inside. The same guy who didn’t wash his hands was sweating heavily and wiping his forehead while handling food—definitely not okay.
Some serious management and food safety training are needed before people start getting sick. And if your idea of “fresh,” as some other reviews suggest, includes pre-cut veggies from a bag, then you’ll probably be fine. Unfortunately, my tomatoes were wilted and had that unpleasant “refrigerator” taste.
Maybe this place used to be worth the hype, but like many spots that get too popular, the quality and flavor have clearly gone downhill.
Tried this ceviche spot in South Padre—fresh, punchy, and worth the stop. The fish was solid quality, citrus was on point, and the spice had just enough kick without killing the flavor. Portions were decent, not huge, but fair for the price. Chips were very oily, but nothing that ruined the experience. If you’re into ceviche, this place delivers. Would definitely go back.
They serve cheviche (what is in the name).
It is fish and shrimps in lemon juice.
Different kind of vegetables could be added. Should be eaten with chips.
You can buy some hot sauce if you like.
Very nice to have it after a beach.
Staff is friendly and quite agile making your meals just on the fly.
