Ate one bite. Asked for my bill and left. I was super hungry and it wasn’t even worth the calorie intake. Tasted like a ball of slimy flour. The sauce was the consistency of wall paint. Literally zero flavor. Best part was the server didnt even ask me if I wanted a box or question if everything was OK. Wasn’t even worth having a conversation about it from my point of view. Ill just leave a review so the next person doesnt get taken advantage of. Week old, left over panda express would be a better bet.

Everything is so good! Service is fast and food comes out quickly. We got cucumber salad, pan seared wontons and the mini juicy buns with pork, sooooo good. We came back twice in a week.

Been on a chinese comfort food / dumpling spree for the last few weeks, and had somewhat high expectations for this seemingly authentic place based on reviews for “terrible service but great food.”

Easy to get in on a Thursday night, and food came quick. I was hungry enough to order enough food to feed 4, but I struggled to eat a single portion’s worth. All the items we got just seemed a little off.

My stirfry rice cake was too soft, and had a weird salty aftertaste. The XLB were big and generous, but something about the flavor made it seem too overwhelming to gulp down multiple in a row. The fried dumplings were yummy on th first bite, but also seemed too much afterwards. My husband’s Taiwanese noodle soup was not the beef kind as expected, but a bland version of ramen with noodles that lacked the homemade texture.

Maybe it was an off night (for me as well as them) but I left disappointed (and with alot less in my wallet than I expected).

3.5 stars – not bad but not great

I got takeout from here because they were having a buy one get one free deal on almost everything on the menu and scally and pancakes have gotten so expensive it’s mind-blowing. The ingredients for them cost like a cent and people are charging $12 for one order it’s wild!!!!!!

Anyway we used to make scallion pancakes at home so I know very well the most important part of scallion pancakes is the flakiness. Well. The scallion pancakes they served had zero flakiness whatsoever. I do not think they laminated the dough at all (created a bunch of layers similar to a croissant) and they just made the dough and spread it out and fried it. It was one solid piece with legitimately not one single flake.

The flavor of the dough was not bad and I also got the scallion beef sandwich which I thought was tasty aside from the scallion part.

They were very nice to us when we went in to pick up the food.

I think a 3.5 is pretty generous but because the stuff was so nice and the general flavors were good I’ll just take off one star for making the worst scallion pancakes I’ve ever had.

Seriously you could buy frozen ones from the grocery store and they would be perfect and flaky and delicious, I just hate deep frying in my house.

I’ve been eating here for 12 years and keep coming back.
Food is always good, service has improved and they are alert to help, food comes out quick. Try the eggplant- unusual thick sauce a little spice, very smooth. Dumplings and scallion pancakes are great and the atmosphere is just good not fancy-nice view of washington st.. Chopsticks a little chunky. Seafood seems authentic.I’ll be back.

Do yourself a big favour! Don’t enter this place if you like good food! I’ve never had such terrible Chinese food my whole life! The seafood fried rice was tasteless, and I found three little chewy shrimp and some cheap frozen calamari. The main course pork should have been called “main course, no meat, lots of fat only!” Service was like the food, terrible and the prices outrageous for the garbage food! I came to this place because I was hungry, and all the other places were packed. But I truly don’t understand why these terrible, so-called restaurants, with crappy food and service, always seem to survive! I wish I could give 0 stars because they don’t deserve more than that! And really, I’m not here to put restaurants to the ground, and if you read my other posts, it’s almost all 5-star ratings and great reviews. This dirty and terrible place should be avoided at all costs unless you want to torture yourself!

Ordered on uber eats. Fried pork Dumplings were great. Taiwanese noodles good. General Gau was decent at best. Chicken was chewy and inconsistent. Stick to the dumplings you’ll be good.

This was my second time here and it’s the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. All of the food was good and well seasoned. I’ve never had crispy general Taos chicken it’s usually soggy everywhere I go but these were so good. Soup dumplings are unreal and our waitress was a sweetheart. I wish I didn’t live so far

Wandered in here late night not sure what to expect. The ordering process was certainly different. Servers were a little chaotic but it seems to work for them. Seems like a get in, get out kind of spot which in Chinatown isn’t at all unusual.

Tried the Mapo Tofu and I was kind of blown away by how good it is. Didn’t expect the food to hit quite like that here. But it’s one of the better versions I have had in a while. Definitely need to go back to test the consistency and see what’s up with the tipping issue so many recent reviews keep mentioning.
