Pollino is a dynamic and modern Italian restaurant, situated in the heart of Halifax, enjoying the raised position with stunning hill views of Calder valley and beautifully lit Wainhouse tower from Victorian era. The restaurant has a large private car park for customers, as well as additional free on-street parking for those busy weekends and holidays. The restaurant is open six days a week closed on Tuesdays and has over 240 covers, best place to be weather that would be for business events, romantic date or that special occasion with loved ones. Our menu revolves around classic Italian cuisine with a focus on quality and fresh seasonal ingredients and an extensive wine list from Italy’s diverse regions.

Icredible food from start to finish. We had the chateaubriand, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The atmosphere was spot on, and the service really topped it off. Alfonso looked after us all evening and was brilliant. Very friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience amazing. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

This is one our favourite restaurant and we have left a review before, but we felt compelled to do another because the quality of ingredients, how they are put together and how they are cooked is simply outstanding – and all with consistently high standards. All the serving staff are really helpful, professional and friendly without being overbearing. The young lady who now meets and greets and maybe managers the restaurant always does an amazing job, a real asset to the business. Special mention for our waiter. Alfonso who went above and beyond to make our experience special and made personal recommendations which were spot on. If you haven’t been here, you should. Of course we’ll be back soon

We have visited this beautiful restaurant many times and the food just never disappoints ..the staff go above and beyond to help with your experience and the waitresses and waiters are very attentive especially the manager Alfonso you all work so hard and it obviously pays off as we keep coming back
The octopus tail starter was absolutely cooked to perfection and the sauce was very nice and the monkfish with pasta main dish was delicious too.
My partner had deep fried mozzarella and then Veal in a cream and mushroom sauce which he said was very good sadly no room for pudding this time

Absolutely wonderful. I took my daughter, her husband and two children. Nice atmosphere, superb food and lovely staff, very family orientated as you would expect from an Italian restaurant. We all enjoyed it, chaotic at times but fun. Would we go again? Of course we would.

Brilliant, delayed Valentine’s meal for myself and my wife…the food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, but the staff were what put the icing on our visit….our waitress (sorry, did not get here name, but she had long dark hair and is studying criminology at Huddersfield) was utterly charming. It is so nice to see you people with such easy confidence, able to converse with their customers….not arrogant or cocky, just easy confidence. Top notch!!

We went to Pollino’s last night for the first time we booked at table for 4:45pm 3 people! When we arrived the guy was very friendly and warmly ordered our food came in no time at all! We ate our meal and they came and asked if we would like another drink so we ordered another round and carried on chatting they then came 5 mins later and asked if we would like anything else we said we was ok at the moment as we had our drinks a few mins later came again would you like anything else desserts etc! Again no we are ok at the moment thank you! 5 mins later a lady came in just giving you your bill and put it down and walked off, less than 5 mins later another lady came and said can I take your bill have you paid yet! To which my sister said, what we would like is to actually be able to enjoy our drinks without been felt like we are getting kicked out! She apologised and walked off 10 mins later another lady came and said can I have your bill please and has everything been ok we drank our drinks and said yes up until the last 20-25 mins where you have tried your upmost to get us out of here! We had not once been told the table was only available for an hour and 15 mins max the lady apologised again and said we are just really busy with all these other tables! Again not our problem she then said once we had downed our drinks we do have an upstairs if you want to go up and have a drink! Again no one made us aware of this when we felt like we was been ushered out of the joint! All in all the food was amazing the atmosphere was crazy loud but they did have a few parties in but the services really really spoilt the whole experience and will think twice before returning!

Just had to share how amazing Polinos in Halifax is! We’ve been there a few times now, and it’s totally become our go-to spot when we want to make something special. The food is just incredible—like, the pizza and pasta are next-level delicious.
But let’s talk cocktails for a sec. They’re fantastic and honestly worth the trip alone. You’ve got to try the Mai Tai cocktail—it’s absolutely stellar!

If you’re a steak lover, you’re in for a treat. The steaks are cooked perfectly every single time. We even tried the large tomahawk sharing steak, and it was phenomenal—melt-in-your-mouth goodness! And for the size of that thing, it’s actually reasonably priced.
Oh, and the views! You get this beautiful landscape of the Calder Valley while you dine. It’s seriously the perfect backdrop.
Honestly, Polinos is well worth a visit. It blows any other Italian spot in town out of the water. Highly recommend!

Booked here last minute on a Saturday, think we were very lucky to get in the same day as it was very busy. Staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was lovely. We shared the chateaubriand and it was cooked exactly how we asked for it and very tasty. Had a few cocktails and a bottle of wine which were delicious. All in all had a great evening and will return.
