My granddaughter had the kids short stack of very berry pancakes. The amount of food she received was more than enough than she could eat. She loved them. She also ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Her drink was more than enough for her, she wasn’t able to finish it.
My grandson had the kids hamburger with just ketchup and pickles and fries. The hamburger was a very large portion for a kid. He liked the burger and fries. He also had a side cup of fruit. He received a very large portion of mixed fruit that was a mix of bananas, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, and strawberries. The fruit was very fresh and looked really good.
I had a cup of beef vegetable soup. The soup was good, not homemade, but good. I liked that it had roast or brisket in it. I also ordered the loaded American fries without onions. I was disappointed! My American fries had more onions than potatoes. I don’t generally send food back because I’ve had a bad experience doing that. Needless to say I had to pick out a lot of onions. I spent most of our dinner picking them out.
The hostess and waitress were very attentive and nice. My coffee was always full and warm. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. I think we went at the wrong time on a Friday night though. We were one of the only families with kids there. The older people dining in the restaurant were put off by the kids. I understand my son was crabby, but he’s also 5, he was hungry, and tired.
Only complaint I would have is they are not open all the time! Definitely a good place to eat and some of the staff has been there forever! The owners rock!
Can’t remember a meal that did not meet my expectations.
We were very excited to try Eagle Inn for the first time. I called to ask about their specials. The woman on the phone was courteous and helpful. We arrived at the busy restaurant and were immediately seated. The waitress was very good, took our order for the Prime Rib, and left us the menus to look over since it was our first time. Our food arrived quickly. I had the soup and it was tasty but small. Shortly arrived the Prime rib. It was large and cooked med/rare like I had asked. The meat was cold. It was half inedible gristle and fat. It tastes good but we’re Disappointed! My husband’s mashed potatoes tasted sweet. Mine were good. Did not care for the cooked carrots. We did, however, care for our waitresses wonderful and friendly service and the restaurants family atmosphere. I also forgot to mention how clean everything was. Very impressed. We’re on the fence about going back. Something tells me that our experience with the food was a fluke, though. Everyone I ask loves Eagle Inn. Maybe we’ll see.
