We went a bit later into the night, but we were very quickly seated and served. The service speed was incredible! We put in our order, and the drinks and food came so quickly I almost thought they served our table the wrong food.

We ordered the Combo B for two, and I believe that it’s a fantastic deal considering what we got. The Thai Tea and Lemonade were incredible, the Karaage was crispy and juicy, and the Spicy Miso was delicious. The Tonkotsu ramen wasn’t the best that I had, but it was still very good. The deserts were also wonderful! The presentation was very cute, and they’re both light and refreshing after all the food. Overall this place was a great find in Chicago!

Great experience for the most part, but I didn’t quite enjoy the ramen broth as much as I thought it would. The appetizers were delicious and I was able to get one of the cocktails without alcohol and it was also delicious. Things were quite affordable, and I was able to get a last minute seat at the bar on Valentine’s Day. They don’t have many dessert options, but the one that we got was really good. Staff was friendly and the bathroom was quite nice. This would be great for a date night!

Kyuramen is one of those spots that leans heavily into experience, and honestly, it works.

The individual booth seating gives it that semi-private, cozy feel that makes it great for catching up with a friend without feeling like you’re shouting over the room. The decor feels modern Japanese with a playful edge — lanterns, wood accents, and a slightly cinematic vibe that makes it more than just a quick ramen stop.

From a vegetarian perspective, the options are solid but not overwhelming. I appreciate when a place doesn’t treat vegetarian ramen like an afterthought. The broth had depth, and the toppings felt intentional rather than just removed substitutes. The balance between richness and comfort was well executed.

The drinks and sides complemented the meal nicely, and portions were satisfying without feeling excessive.

Service was efficient and friendly, and the pacing worked well — we didn’t feel rushed, but we also didn’t feel like we were waiting around.

Is this the most traditional ramen experience in Chicago? Probably not. But it’s fun, visually appealing, and consistent — which makes it easy to recommend, especially for groups or first-time ramen diners.

Overall, Kyuramen delivers a solid dining experience that blends comfort food with a unique atmosphere.

The ramen is great, very flavorful! I got the classic Tonkotsu. The passion fruit martini could be improved. The aperol spritz was solid tho! The service is fast and efficient and the atmosphere is pretty nice tho it’s a bit warm inside. Price for the ramen is very reasonable for what it offers.

One of the more unique feeling Ramen spots in the city. Very cool look and vibe inside.

They have a great special with appetizer, drink, noodles, and dessert. Seemed a great value. Also have some of the most cocktail and sake options around.

I got the signature Tokyo style Garlic Tonkatsu. The flavors were deep and very well developed. The pork was tender, but more thinly sliced than my preference. More of a style thing. Definitely recommend trying them out!

Came here with friends after New Year’s when we were craving ramen. We ordered several drinks and appetizers along with Classic Combo B. The combo was a great deal, though the items are preselected. The ramen was solid and comforting, and the popcorn chicken was a hit. The bao bun and takoyaki were just okay, and the desserts didn’t really stand out. The Lychee Lime Green Tea was too sweet for my taste, but the Passion Fruit Tea was pretty good.

I’d come back to try the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice. They also take reservations for groups over six and have cool beehive-style seating along one wall.

My eyes were laser-focused on trying a ramen place while staying in town for business and a friend recommended Kyuramen. On a Wednesday evening, seating was ample and quick; no reservation needed for a party of one. I sat at the single-seating area with a view of the food prep area. Didn’t realize I was there for a dinner and a show!

To drink, I started with a Thai Iced Tea. Creamy and smooth – a delightful start to my meal. For my meal, I ordered the Vegetable Miso Ramen. The choices with animal meat looked delicious even though I am a vegetarian. I considered choosing meat again upon gazing my eyes upon the expertly crafted ramen dishes. The miso was flavorful and warmed me up from the Chicago cold. Filled with tofu and a variety of veggies, the noodley soup provided me the comfort I needed and the chow I needed to fill my belly.

Even better than the Thai Iced Tea was the Awesome Lemonade. I don’t know what magical potion they use to make this lemonade, but it was AWESOME! I ordered my lemonade to-go and was pleasantly surprised by the sweet nectar of the gods that was this lemonade. The ramen was amazing and the lemonade pushed me over the line to be a repeat customer. I will be back so save me some of that awesome lemonade.

This is the best and most authentic Japanese Ramen I have had in a long time. Absolutely delicious, tastes and feels like you’re in Japan.
Best part is there is a chicken, beef, and vegan Ramen option so all your friends can take part in Ramen dinner.
The yakitori skewers were also on point.
Sweet chilli wings were a sleeper hit, don’t skip.
Passion fruit tea was delicious, excellent ratio of fruit, aloe jelly, and passion fruit flavor.
Would happily return the next time Ramen cravings hit.

My first impression is wow. The overall design is quite trendy & cozy. This place is unlike any Ramen restaurant I’ve visited. The beehive arrangement of some tables is unique. I’d give the food a two solid thumbs up. They did a great job in curating great taste. It’s not quite as specialized places one might find in Japan or trendy eateries stateside; I’d rate this a 4.5 out of 5. This place has assembly line precision as our food came out so quick…yet there was 0 fast food feel. They had a lot of cooks. To me it seems like this would make a great date place.

Amazing place, workers are nice and friendly, location is hidden from the main tourist street and gives you a little break from the traffic. Food is great, I got the Omurice combo with Tonkatsu, it comes with a sauce of your choice as well as drink. A little pricey for me but I reaaaaally wanted to try this Japanese omelet! It tasted amazing, literally melted in my mouth. My only complaint is that rice that is underneath the omelet contains small pork or chicken pieces, I could quite understand. I wish it would be just the plain rice with no meat – but it’s only my personal taste, otherwise the texture and taste was great! Thai Iced Tee 10/10, Tonkatsu – 10/10! Def worth visiting!

We visited on Thursday at 3pm and there were minimal amount of people. Food came within 5 minutes and we were seated in a nice place 🙂
