Fujiyama in Boise is a top-tier local spot for sushi and comfort food. I came in craving sushi and egg drop soup, and both were seriously good. The sushi was fresh, clean tasting, and clearly made by people who know what they’re doing. Great rice, great balance, and everything came out looking and tasting like care was taken.
But the egg drop soup was the star. It was rich, silky, and packed with flavor, not watery or bland like a lot of places. Perfect temperature, perfect texture, and super satisfying. The kind of soup that makes you slow down for a second because it’s that good.
As far as the place itself, it was clean. It was packed but it was still pretty quite
Service was excellent – quick, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. If you’re in Boise and looking for a reliable Japanese restaurant with great sushi and standout egg drop soup, Fujiyama is absolutely worth the stop.

The sushi doesn’t live up to its self-proclaimed hype. The website says that owner Jason Huang studied sushi as an understudy for 10 years. My sushi wasn’t flavored with that all-important dash of wasabi between the fish and the rice. The portion of fish was generous, which I appreciated, but it overwhelmed the small pat of rice it sat on. My à la carte selection of salmon and tuna sushi didn’t have any garnishes on top. Although the lack of garnish is traditional in Japan, I prefer a little green onion or ginger garnish on top of my sushi.

This is my favorite sushi place in Meridian. The salmon sashimi/sushi is always especially good. I had some “fancier” sushi in San Diego (Takaramono sushi), and Fujiyama’s salmon was still better. I also love the snowman roll and the eel sushi. Photos show my order in the to go boxes. In the restaurant the presentation is always really pretty.

Fujiyama Meridian is our favorite sushi spot, excellent food and great service. We love their lunch specials and their specialty rolls the Eastern Dragon and Super Dragon are our favorites. We love this place and keep coming back.

We visited Fujiyama Sushi House after reading many great reviews, but it was quite disappointing. The restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday night, which already felt unusual.
We ordered two chicken teriyaki dinners and two specialty rolls. The sushi was mediocre, and the teriyaki was poorly prepared. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she initially offered to replace the dishes but then returned and said they could only offer 15% off instead.
Unfortunately, the food and service both fell short of expectations, and we won’t be returning.

Great sushi. Nice quiet atmosphere so you can talk. Prices are great for the quality of the food.

My husband and I travel often and every single place we visit we have sushi. This is by far one of the best places we’ve ever been to. The food was amazingly delicious and super fresh. The service was top tier! We had Chris as our server and he was amazing! Thank you
For anyone visiting the area this is an absolute must visit.

Cornered us until we left a tip, literally wouldn’t let us leave. Confronted us and said the bad service wasn’t an excuse for not leaving a tip. We didn’t leave one because the service wasn’t good. Our server sat us on a corner by their supplies, threw our menus at us and rushed us to pay and leave. The food was okay. Made my family and I have a stressful night just because of this experience. Do not recommend spending your money here, I won’t be returning ever.

Best sushi place in Idaho! They must truly have some masterful chefs in the kitchen because everything always looks and tastes amazing, and they never compromise on quality. I like to have basic nigiri and prefer rolls with no sauce and minimal combinations, and they do the ingredients so much justice.
They are also very reasonably priced, especially when ordering their Lunch maki combo, perfect meal for one.
My mother got me 100$ in gift cards to here at the beginning of December and I only have one left! This is my favorite restaurant.

Had dinner with the family here. Food was good. Service was not. The server (older lady) was very short, didn’t really come by for refills, took forever, or just didn’t bring the refill once we did flag her down. Also took forever bringing the tab. After that she had the audacity to say parties over 6 pay 20% gratuity. It was 4 adults and 2 toddlers lol. Dine expecting sub par service and I think you’ll like it here.
