I still think about this vegan Reuben 3 years later I’ve tried many, many vegan Reubens since I had this one and none live up to its memory. Thank you for creating it and please never change it or take it off the menu. Someday I’ll make it back to Tacoma just to have it again

Hands down some of the best sandwiches in town! Peterson Bros. 1111 never disappoints — the food is incredible, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is always awesome. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.

And if you love it here, do yourself a favor and check out their sister locations Peaks and Pints and The Valley — equally fantastic. This whole family of spots is doing it right. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good amount of seating, and service was impeccable. The food was just average, probably won’t be back. Anything other than a bag of chips as a side is extra. Expect to spend $15+ for food.

My favorite bar in Tacoma. Closer to a pub than a bar. Love the servers and kitchen staff. All are wonderful people.
And I’m a sucker for the vegan special and vegan soup. Never get anything else. My wife enjoys playing songs on the juke box. Usually not too crowded but it can be busy.
Interesting and comfy vibe. Street parking can be a hassle so if you’re within a block or two and see a spot, grab it.

I had an absolutely delicious sandwich! The walls are covered with the cutest decorations, and the whole vibe is super relaxing. The only thing is, the food took quite a while to come out — so if you’re in a rush to get to work, it might not be the best spot. Other than that, everything was amazing! I’ll definitely be back!

Dope little dive bar, though I only stayed for a few minutes – we got ruben sandwiches as carryout.

They are *so good*. Best Ruben I have had in a very long time, I am going. To be chasing this high for years.

I wish I had better photos to showcase it correctly.

Never felt so heartbroken as when I arrived here to pickup my order
I’m from out of town and saw this place had subs so I placed an order for pickup. When I arrived I witnessed some dude pushing a homeless guy out of a chair and telling him to leave, that’s when I pulled out my phone and caught him then go over to another homeless person who was laying under cardboard then went and step on him.
After he stepped on him he pretended to slap the dude he pushed out of the chair & started walking into this place and I was going also to pickup my order. When I walked in he asked me what I was doing and I said I’m here to pickup my order. He then proceeded to go behind the counter and gave me my food. Not sure if this was an employee or the owner, but I cannot support here anymore while in town as I would if I hadn’t witnessed this. The food was pretty good too, but I won’t be back. Also $16+ for a sandwich was wild.

We had an amazing experience at Peterson Brothers 1111! Our server, Addie, was absolutely fantastic—funny, attentive, and truly helped round out our entire visit. The food was incredible—we ordered both a vegan and a regular sandwich, and everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere is fun, laid-back, and super enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area. And if you’re lucky enough to have Addie as your server, you’re in for a great time—she’s a real asset to the experience!

Following another PT session today, it was off to find food before running errands. Peterson Brothers 1111 is in an older part of Tacoma with street parking only. It took 2 turns around the block before we saw a vehicle vacating and snagged a parking spot almost directly from the entrance. Had there not been one, we would have added it to the list of restaurants where we would like to dine but has no available parking.

We entered and immediately found a table. This is an old bar with a huge counter and bar stools. There are tables on the north and west sides. Being a bar, it was dark so taking pictures was not easy.

While the menu isn’t extensive, the offerings were varied and interesting enough that it took Ray and me several minutes to decide what to order. Ray had The SmokeStack. I ordered the Turkey Chipotle Melt. They don’t serve fried food. Our sandwiches came with a bag of Tim’s chips and a pickle. Soup or salad can be added for an additional charge.

I asked the bartender for a recommendation, and told her my dilemma. It was nice to hear her take, instead of hearing “everything is good”.

Ray and I both wanted coffee which they do not serve. I found that odd because my adult beverage of choice is made with coffee. Ray had lemonade. I had water.

Our meals came up fairly quickly. Our sandwiches were loaded with meat, and had fresh, crisp vegetables. The bread was heated without being rock hard. We agreed they were very good. We were only able to eat half. The other half we wrapped up and brought home.

There was just a bartender and cook for staff that I could see. The bartender greeted and acknowledged everyone as they came in, and was fast, efficient and friendly.

While the food was very good and the service was excellent, locating parking will be a deal breaker for us. Ray and I live on 30 acres and are wide open spaces type of people. Going to Tacoma is a necessary evil. Hunting for a parking spot is not our idea of a good time. If you don’t mind, then I recommend visiting there.

This was absolutely the BEST place I’ve had the pleasure to eat in a long time. It has everything – charm, good food (both non-vegan and vegan), and great drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Some of our group were vegan, and some were not, yet all were happy. There were multiple non-alcoholic beers. My husband had a Clausthaler. They made me a non-alcoholic cocktail using The Pathfinder, a non-alcoholic spirit. Everything mentioned here was very tasty. Special THANKS to JOSH for being a wonderful host. We will definitely be back.
