I ordered the Steamer Pot with the Old Bay seasoning, and it was the clear highlight of the visit. The seafood was fresh, properly cooked, and generously portioned, with the Old Bay bringing a familiar, well balanced seasoning profile that complemented rather than overwhelmed the ingredients. Nothing was overcooked, which is critical for a dish like this, and the components worked together cohesively.
The menu overall leans into crowd-pleasing seafood classics rather than experimental or chef-driven dishes, and it succeeds on that front. This is comfort seafood done right, focused on flavor, quantity, and approachability rather than flash.
Service was solid and efficient, keeping things moving without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is casual and functional, appropriate for the style of food and the portions being served. It feels like a place built around eating well rather than lingering theatrics.
Jewel City Seafood is absolutely worth a stop if you are in the Huntington region. While it is not a destination that warrants a dedicated trip on its own, it excels locally and regionally as a reliable place to get a hearty, well prepared seafood meal.
This evening we decided to go as I have never been. We got there about 1700, and there was no wait to be seated. The staff were very friendly and courteous.
Our server came out to greet us and gave us a complimentary order of their famous hushpuppies (very good, btw). The menu is loaded with a sorts of seafood favorites and even a few surprises. The prices were fair and the portions… let’s just say HUGE!
I ordered the cod dinner with fries and coleslaw. Dad ordered the fish and chips, and mom had the fried cod sandwich.
The food was all fresh and hot. The coleslaw was crisp and flavorful. The fries were hot and crisp. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we will definitely put this restaurant in our monthly rotation. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. He had a great attitude. His name was Zack. Overall, I do highly recommend this local restaurant and believe you will neither leave disappointed or hungry.
Ask for Zack!
We tried the crab stuffed mushrooms, a bowl of clam chowder, the all you can eat fish n ships, and tilapia. Everything was great!
The young man who waited on us was great, too.
The bear selection was good, and the mixed drinks were as expected.
