If you’re craving flavorful, authentic Cuban cuisine, Casual Habana delivers every time. The pernil and oxtail are rich, tender, and perfectly seasoned—without any gaminess. Their guacamole and appetizers are a must-try, and the cocktails and sangria are refreshingly well-crafted.
You can taste the freshness in every bite—from the savory beans to the perfectly cooked fish. It’s a place where quality meets tradition.
The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, and the staff truly goes above and beyond—attentive, kind, and always ready to help. While parking is mostly street-only, it’s well worth the visit.
Definitely one of the best Cuban spots around.
Saturday in early June 2025
Great place for a good dinner, great drinks, and great service for reasonable prices. We had the corvina ceviche w/cherimoya and the corvina en guatabera de platano (plantain crusted corvina), Yuka frita, and the dirty rice. All of these dishes were amazing, except the ceviche which was very bland and disappointing. However, everything else was fantastic so I’ll definitely will be coming back here.
To converse at a normal tone of voice. We love that. We ordered croquetas and Tamales. As you can see in the photos, the ham croquettes, had real ham and the tamales came with masitas that were cooked perfect. Then came our meals, i ordered Rabo Encendido, which I have not had it this good in over 25 years! It tasted just like my grandmother’s and I had to make sure to suck all the meat and fat off the bone! There was sauce left over which I mixed with my rice and black beans. It was heaven for me. My wife ordered Arroz Frito con Camarones. She loved her meal as well. We are Cuban and rarely do we leave restaurants a five star review. Cristina was our server and her beautiful smile and happy attitude added to the environment. We can’t do any less than give 5 stars. We had an excellent experience and the chef and all the staff should be proud of what they are doing.
¡Patria y Vida!
When we walked in, we got greeted by a young lady. I forgot to catch her name, but she had long hair with glasses. She was super nice. I’ve never seen a host so nice and friendly! I think her name started with a Y or J. An excellent host.
Our waiter, Juan was super attentive and very nice and informative about the food.
You have to get the empanadas from spinach. They’re so good. I ended up getting the snapper and it was delicious.
Will definitely be back!!
Chicharones desperately needed seasoning.. just plain bland.
Fish, a little over cooked. Dry..
but otherwise enjoyed the meal.
-Masitos de Cerdo (fried pork chunks) with dirty rice and sweet plantains – both the pork and the rice were dry. The sweet plantains were not bad, and I normally don’t even like these
-Chicharron – I preferred this over the pork chunks. Probably because they were fattier. It also came with a nice pickled beet salad
-Cuban sandwich – pork was dry. Seems to be a common theme here. The plantain chips were a nice touch though. I also wish it came with some kind of spicy sauce because that would have helped the dryness
-Caldo Gallego (white bean, chorizo, morcilla, and kale soup) – this was more like a stew than a soup. The flavors were good
Maybe we just didn’t order the right items but I don’t think I’d order again.
For those who appreciate spicy sauces, make sure to ask the server because they have a fantastic hot sauce available. It adds an extra kick to the dishes and enhances the overall dining experience.
In addition to the fantastic food, we were also impressed by their cocktails. They were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also quite enjoyable, creating a pleasant and inviting ambiance. The server even mentioned that they open their folding doors during warm weather, adding a delightful touch to the dining experience.
We highly recommend visiting this place and hope that you have a wonderful time there too!
Updated review with recent visit photos. All of the appetizers are delicious but my favorite are the steak tostones and croquettes
