My 90 year old mother and oldest brother are from the UK so we are always in the eternal
Hunt for the next best fish-n-chips and Friar Tuck did not disappoint! The service was great, the food was hot and not over cooked. We had two full portions and one half portion of the fish and one stew. The onion rings were great! The only disappointment was the “spotted dick” pudding as it was clearly out of a can and not enjoyable. We also bought bacon, pies, and sausage to go and they have been fantastic!

We had gone to eat food at the Indian restaurant Saffron. The food was very good. And the staff there was also very good. And the butter chicken there was very good and garlic naan very good. And the staff was also very good. I want more people to go there and eat and we have not eaten such food in any other Indian restaurant till date.

Last night we went to get some dinner and listen to the songwriters’ open mic at the Friar Tuck. Let me tell you—the food was fantastic (and I am a picky foodie)! My husband’s steak pie was incredible with tender meat, savory gravy, and flaky pastry. My fish and chips were also delicious, the fish very fresh and crispy, in a tempura batter. The wings in their house Sherwood sauce (green Tabasco/butter) were so crispy and yummy, with just a bit of heat. Lots of beers on tap and even Blake’s hard cider! The open mic was unexpectedly good too. It’s 30 minutes from us here in Winter Garden but we’re coming back!

It took a few minutes to be seated, but it was slow, so I understood why. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a beautiful bar as the focus at the center of the restaurant. The food came out perfectly timed, not too fast, not slow, and the food was piping hot. My mom and our friend got the fish sandwich, which they said was flaky and perfectly cooked.

I had the batter fried sausages and chips, which is presented as a “starter”. It’s a lot of food for a starter! And so good! British chips should be flexible, soft, with crisp edges, and these chips were on point!

The small grocery to the left of the entrance is perfectly stocked for all your Brit-curious needs, including sticky toffee puddings, Cadbury chocolates, beans, and everything else in between. The woman running the shop was knowledgeable and helped me plan the perfect sticky toffee dessert.

With so many English restaurants to choose from, most being mediocre at best, the Friar Tuck stands out as an extraordinary gem of flavor, atmosphere, and fun. We will certainly be back.

Very good British pub. Plenty of seating and the food was great. Fish and chips and Beans on toast didn’t disappoint. The sausage roll was my wife’s favorite.

The staff was absolutely amazing as they worked very hard to provide the best service even on a busy night. It was very clear that the staff cared about their customers. We especially appreciated the service provided by Jenny as she was very friendly, made sure we were taken care of in a timely manner, and overall made the experience a fantastic one.

The food was reasonably priced and was cooked fantastically. We ordered the BBQ burger, the Mushroom Swiss burger, onion rings, chips, and the profiteroles, and every item was well worth the price. The burgers were cooked all the way through, the onion rings and fries were well seasoned and looked beautiful, and the profiteroles made for a fantastic end to the meal.

I love this place, especially since it was taken over by the new owner. It’s got a wonderful vibe that’s friendly and and the food is very good! The fish and chips is legendary (the thing they kept as a hold over from the previous owner) and it will definitely fill you up! They have tellies so you won’t miss your favourite sports, and they hold special events like Harry Potter trivia nights, jukebox bingo, and curry night with a menu prepared by a chef that comes in especially for the event. And of course, there is the “pantry shoppe” with all the imported goodies! It’s the only place I’ve been able to get my Eccles cakes and they have freezers stocked with a great selection of pasties and pies and bangers that you can take with you….until next week, anyway, when that pint just calls out to you.

Near place with an awesome atmosphere. The food was great and we definitely be back again. I got the Corned Beef Hash and my Wife got the Beef and Mushroom Pie and both were really tasty. The hash browns were really crispy and felt like they were deep fried instead of grilled which made them all crispy. Beef in the pie was very tender and the gravy inside was fantastic. This one was my favorite of the two.
Bread pudding with custard was really good too!
Can’t wait to come try some other things

This is a great local place for food and bev. They always have something going on. From bingo, to bands, karaoke to trivia nights. It’s a lovely neighborhood bar where everyone is always super friendly. They have an English/Irish market now attached to the restaurant where we picked up meat pies – AMAZING. This is by far THE BEST place to get fish and chips in the area. They also have a wonderful variety of common and specialty beers on tap. We love this place and go here all the time.

Great, authentic British food! My friend and I enjoyed the fish & chips made from a large, perfectly fried cod filet with homemade tartar sauce. It paired very well with a Smithwick’s red ale. We both enjoyed delicious British desserts afterwards! The pub style furniture and the decor make a delightful atmosphere as though we were transported to an old British tavern. This was a wonderful place to enjoy one last dinner on our vacation!
