Service was great. We had a really nice waiter who gave excellent recommendations for drinks and food. I wish I remember his name.
The drink and steak prices were very reasonable. Steaks were cooked perfectly and we all had a great dinner there. We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a complimentary dessert for free! Will definitely be back.
First, we didn’t know that they had special deals on Tuesdays, so the prices were very good. You can have a filet mignon for $23 (+ taxes) and also other affordable meats.
The food was extremely tasty, starting with the clam chowder that was creamy and full of flavor. I had the filet mignon and it was super tender. The other guests were also very satisfied with their dishes, highlighting the overall quality of the food.
Ashley was our waitress for the evening and she did an amazing job. She helped me choose the right wine for my filet mignon, and she totally nailed it. Then she helped me prepare a small dessert with a candle for my aunt.
I highly recommend this restaurant and thank Ashley for her service!
We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Carvers Steaks & Chops, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough! From the moment we walked in, the classic steakhouse ambiance—warm, inviting, and perfectly executed—set the tone for a memorable night.
The food was phenomenal: perfectly cooked prime rib that melted in your mouth, a flawlessly seared filet mignon, and sides like the creamed spinach and loaded baked potato that were spot-on. The portions are generous, the quality is top-tier, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. It’s easy to see why it’s been voted one of North San Diego County’s finest steakhouses for over two decades!
But what truly elevated the experience was our incredible waiter, Alfredo. He was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu (his recommendations were spot-on), and had such a warm, professional demeanor that made us feel right at home. He handled everything seamlessly—from suggesting the perfect wine pairing to checking in at just the right moments—and his genuine enthusiasm for the food made the evening even more special.
If you’re looking for a great steakhouse in the San Diego area with outstanding service, Carvers is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back soon—thank you, Alfredo and the whole team, for an amazing night!
Happy Hour (4-6 pm PT) offers good discounts on drinks and select appetizers/courses.
We really enjoyed the large shrimp cocktail with a nice sauce.
The baked Brie was warm with jam, but the accompanying bread was light and a bit bland.
The crab stuffed mushrooms were not as flavorful as expected. They came covered in a browned, melted jack cheese that completely dominated the flavor and texture of the dish, making it hard to taste the crab or other ingredients.
⭐️ Special thanks to Keegan for the friendly, engaging, and great service during the busy happy hour!
Overall, a decent place for happy hour or a casual get-together with friends and family.
I didn’t know they had a happy hour. We ordered some drinks and was surprised by how affordable their drinks were while we waited for our reservation. Can’t recommend Carvers enough!
