The nachos featured fresh house made tortilla chips but for some odd reason only canned, processed cheese sauce and no shredded cheddar, but included sour cream and some nice avocado slices.
The chili was flavorful and had a nice mound of shredded cheddar and diced onions and served with a huge hunk of pineapple cornbread and whipped butter. The chili would have been better with some diced veggies (peppers/tomatoes/onions).
The asparagus chicken was a wonderfully flavorful dish with just the right amount of everything. The “heavy cream sauce” was delicious and not heavy at all. It was served with a nice couple of pieces of grilled garlic bread, tasty!
The meatloaf serving was gigantic. It was baked with a thin layer of tomato sauce on top and also smothered in brown gravy. It was served with what appeared to be doctored up canned green beans and instant mashed potatoes, both tasted good for what they were.
The house salad was fine.
I got the ribeye with scrambled eggs and my partner got the daily special with fried eggs. $1.99 to add a biscuit with gravy.
It seems we were served by the owners daughter!
60$ for two people meals and a coffee and a sprite
We walked in, saw the Mimosa menu, and got excited—rookie move. What we got tasted like flat orange Fanta with a chemical twist. Absolute fail.
Now, the food? Totally redeems the place. The Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles were both excellent—hearty, flavorful, and clearly why the place is packed.
Atmosphere-wise, think classic diner: loud, crowded, and zero privacy. If you’re stuck in the center aisle, you’ll get to know your neighbor’s entire life story whether you want to or not.
Service was slow, but the staff was hustling and doing their best under the brunch rush.
Pro tip: Skip the mimosa, embrace the chaos, and order something with eggs and salsa.
