Two Latino restaurants right next to each other, however this feels and tastes more authentic. Very welcoming, casual eating environment. Loved it. The pork was flavored well and tender. The yucca fries are the best- AND, they kindly brought me olive oil to drizzle on the fries. Childhood favorite. Yum!

Las Placitas is such a gem! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous, and the margaritas are some of the best around. The staff is super friendly and welcoming — they really make you feel at home.
The atmosphere is warm and colorful, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner with friends and family. I’ve tried several dishes and everything has been delicious — especially the fajitas and seafood plates. Definitely one of my favorite local spots!

A staple in barracks Road for many years. This restaurant offers great food in a festive Latin American atmosphere. My favorite dishes are fried tilapia with sautéed peppers, onions and jumbo shrimp and the seafood chimichanga. When the weather is good, the outside patio is the place to be.

The drinks are always on point. I really like the food. This time I tried the shrimp chimichanga and wanted to lick my face off. It was so delicious. The sides were good and the patio is always a vibe. It’s a great place to grab drinks with friends for happy hour 3pm-6pm and they are struck with the time so make sure get there before 6! Keep in mind this is DC, outside, in the summer, and if you are there in the evening you may see little . They are far enough away where you aren’t bothered but close enough for you to see. But this is the case with all outdoor establishments in the city. Don’t let that stop you cause you’d be missing out on a great food and drinks.

Here’s a more engaging version of your review:

I’ve gotta give this place a five-star rating — I’ve never been disappointed with their food, drinks, or service. I discovered this gem a couple of months ago, and it quickly became my go-to spot. I usually opt for pick-up or delivery since I prefer avoiding crowded places.

One time, when I picked up my order, I could tell the staff was a bit overwhelmed. The person preparing my food seemed a little stressed, and I felt rushed, with my small talk brushed aside. But they genuinely apologized, and thanked me for sticking with them.

Today’s experience was even better. During a Grubhub delivery, the driver canceled, saying the restaurant hadn’t included my selected items. I called the restaurant, and they confirmed everything was there — turns out, the driver canceled because he didn’t want to wait five minutes, despite arriving early. I’d tipped him 15%, but the restaurant owner stepped in. When I went to pick up my order instead, he greeted me with fresh drinks, a shot of tequila for my patience, and, to top it off, told me my food would be on the house due to the inconvenience.

This place truly goes above and beyond! Big thanks to everyone at LaPlacitas — you’ve earned my loyalty.

This is a cute and cozy little spot! We enjoyed everything—the food and service were both good. I was a bit tipsy, so the chips and salsa were much appreciated. The space is small, so we were close to our neighbor and could smell their food, which was fish or something I didn’t care for. Despite that, it was a good experience overall. I also tried the frozen peach drink, and it was delicious!

Nachos were good. Chips were stale. Service was friendly.

They really emphasize the Margaritas. The Margarita tasted like a pitcher of water with a lime wedge. Little to no flavor. Forget about tequila; and we upgraded to the 1800. $37 for a pitcher (~2.5 drinks)

Had heard good things. Will not return. Too many other options.
