When I say I was delivered trash….I am serious. The chicken tamale was OLD. At least it looked old, and tasted old, and had actual chicken bones, and I have never had a tamale with bones. That is dangerous for small kids. The beef taco and the birria in my taco was tough and inedible. The accompanying birria dip was pure grease, and nothing more. Wow…I spent good money on trash I threw in the trashcan.

This place was authentic. Stopped in to get some tacos. The service was great. They had a Mexican grocery store next door. The food came out quickly. The tacos were fantastic. I’d definitely recommend this place anytime.

The La Perlita Tacos Y Restaurante Experience (Walk-in Edition). So on this day, I wanted roasted chicken or fajitas for lunch. Once doing a google search La Perlita showed up. I have had some of the best-seasoned roasted chicken in Mexican cooking-style restaurants before, so I was excited to try them out. Although I thought about eating fajitas after seeing pictures of roasted chicken, I knew I was ordering that at La Perlita.

So, once I arrived and entered the restaurant, I was spoken to in Spanish. Unfortunately, I have subpar Spanish skills, so I said hello in English. Then, someone who spoke English took my order, and I ordered their roasted chicken, served with bread, refried beans, sour cream, lettuce, and avocado. Instead of beans, I ordered rice. My order did not take long, and I walked out in no time.

Once ready to eat, I could tell this food was the real deal. You get corn tortillas with your plate and lots of them. In addition, you receive a nice portion of food. However, I expected the chicken to have more flavor, be tender, and easily pull from the bone. Instead, I found the chicken hard to pull off the bone and did not taste as good as it looked. The rice had a good flavor, and the corn tortillas could have used more salt. The red and green sauce served with the plate added a nice touch of heat and flavor to the chicken.

So would I revisit La Perlita? I would give them a try again. While waiting for my food, I saw an order of their fajitas coming out. They looked so good, but I know looks can be deceiving hence my plate. However, I believe in giving local restaurants a try. The customer service was good, and I honestly got an authentic vibe while there. Although my Spanish is shabby, I felt welcomed and not out of place.

It’s one of my favorite spots, and I have enjoyed every item that I’ve tried. Really enjoyed the pastor steak tacos, shrimp soup & sopas.

Service was absolutely terrible. And the food wasn’t any better. Me and fiancé had called ahead ( she told us 15min wait) we got there and still had to wait 15 more minutes. So unprofessional.

I order this today and it was just not good at all. The food was bad this was supposed to be a mole verde it was more like a watery green sauce not a mole also the portion was so little for what we paid I asked for dumps and legs and they gave me chicken breast from the roasted whole chickens they do it was just bad. The taste was horrible it wasn’t even enough rice on the plate . The pastor on our tacos was bad as well taste it very bad. It used to be very good place to eat before but lately is just not good.

It’s okay. If you are craving Mexican food and are passing by it’s worth it to stop. But otherwise, there are other better Mexican food out there.

Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been too! It’s a small and very authentic restaurant with amazing and delicious food. Ordered four tacos: shrimp, steak, carnitas and beef tongue— which were absolutely incredible. If you’re looking for a REAL Mexican restaurant in town, this place is it!
