From the moment we walked in, there was no greeting or smile from the staff — not exactly a warm welcome. We ordered the Paneer Tikka, Lamb Korma, Tandoori Chicken Sizzler, two Chais, one beer, and one Mango Lassi. Unfortunately, the food lacked flavour across the board.
The Tandoori Chicken came in large chunks and was dry and tough inside. The Paneer pieces were also oversized and bland on the inside. The Lamb Korma was mostly fatty pieces, and the curry resembled a thick, flavourless paste rather than a rich, spiced sauce.
The Mango Lassi was overwhelmingly sweet, and the chai tasted off — almost like it had been brewed in a dirty cloth. We had also requested hot water upon arrival and were served lukewarm tap water.
Overall, a very underwhelming experience both in terms of food and hospitality.
Service: the waitress suggested good food and the right quantity.
Ambience: get great decoration and ample Park
He even brought the chef to our table to help clarify our questions, and a separate item was specially prepared for us. Overall, it was a great experience with attentive service and good food.
The service was lacking though…The waitress seemed busy and didn’t really come check-up on me or ask if I needed anything else. I had to flag her down and ask for a Coconut Chutney refill which to her credit she did promptly refill but there was no offer to refill the other condiments which were also empty. She also kept taking stuff away from the table without bothering to ask if I was done with it or whether I needed anything else. Strange. It could be because the restaurant was closing up: I came in at 9 and got served at 9:30pm (they close at 10pm) so I guess everyone was busy helping shut down after evening service.
It was also strange that the owner (he seemed like the owner or manager) sat at the bar working on his laptop and completely ignored the customers; to the point where he just wordlessly totalled up my bill when asked and handed it to me. He didn’t even bother making eye contact. I’m not sure what the issue was? To be fair, it could have been a language issue where the owner isn’t comfortable speaking English or something to that end; and if so, I apologize for judging. But overall, the interaction seemed a bit unfriendly, and it made me feel like I wasn’t welcome.
I’m not sure if I would go again, which is a shame because the food, the decor and the overall cleanliness of the washrooms etc was all excellent.
The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and consistent. Every time we eat here, we have been lucky that the restaurant wasnt too busy, and we get immediate attention.
The portions are very generous and we always take home food.
One day we will save room for dessert:p
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with a more adventurous palette.
Lovely menu options
