I arrived at the drive thru half anhour before closing time, after ordering my regular at the speaker, I proceeded to the window as was “greeted” by a young lady no older than 20 who scowled, stared unbroken venomous eye contact at me and asked me if I wanted salsa in the most contemptuous voice imaginable. Dumbfounded, I just responded yes and paid in silence while receiving the same unbroken hostile stare. Returning with the food a couple of minutes later, it was rapidly shoved out the window, brief “thanks for coming” in the same mocking voice and and she disappeared back inside all in one rapid movement, I mean it probaly took no more than 2 seconds.
This completely unacceptable and bizarrely hostile attitude made me immediately afraid to eat the food as it was given over in such a aggressive way. I drove home and immediately threw it in the trash as I don’t have any reason to believe that it was safe to eat at this point.
Thousands of dollars spent over years at this location and I have never felt so insulted by a local business Ive loyally patronized. I wish I could take every cent back. Well, I’ll never be returning and neither should you.
Edited to add: been back several times since and they’re still delicious. My bf got their chicken combination with rice and Mac & cheese on the side, and he said it’s some of the best chicken he’s ever eaten.
107.9 LiteFM’s Michelle Hart does a fantastic thing where every so often she curates a list of 5 lesser-known yet highly underrated Boise eateries. Fiesta Chicken was featured on the second list published in February 4th. Until then, I never gave Fiesta a second glance. The name doesn’t really stand out and I’d never heard anything about it. After reading Michelle’s article and viewing the menu, I was intrigued and decided, what the heck. BEST DECISION EVER.
A+++++ and more for value and quality! I ordered a #1: 3 Piece Leg & Thigh with rice and beans (comes when with two warm flour tortillas, but you can choose corn, $7.59) and my husband bellied up to a Carne Asada Supreme Burrito (beef, rice, bean, cheese, onions, cilantro, guacamole, pico de Gallo and sour cream, $6.79). We were both beyond impressed with our selections! The big hit was definitely the chicken. Grilled to perfection, the meat was amazingly moist, I’m taking melt-in-your-mouth moist and charbroiled to absolute perfection. It got me wishing I ordered the 4 piece just to have more goodness. Every bite combined with a spoonful of rice and beans took my tastebuds to heaven, over and over again. The rice and beans were an excellent combination, I wouldn’t recommend any other sides. Rice was flavored very authentically, paired very well with the soft beans. The burrito was fantastic as well. Talk about value! For under $7.00 we got a burrito that lasted two meals. And it tasted just as good reheated the following day.
Fiesta Chicken certainly exceeded my very mere expectations. It goes to show that you really shouldn’t judge any place by it’s name or location because it just might be some of the best food you’d ever eat. I was so delighted by this delicious experience I already planning to go back in a couple days with some friends. Thanks for a wonderful experience Fiesta Chicken! I can’t wait for more.
