The fagioli soup of the day was a winner as well. I will consider stopping here again when in the area.
We saw a sign on 84 heading West. 2 miles off the exit we were greeted by a hostess wearing black slacks and a bright pink sweater and a smile on her face. Great start.
After being seated we looked at their menu. Not at all was I was expecting. A beautiful array of choices. We just weren’t hungry enough to try all the items we wanted. I had a Cobb salad. Home made Blue cheese dressing, plant of freshly grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, blue cheese and tomato on a spring mix and iceberg lettuce and served in a chilled bowl!! My husband had the Apple Valley Chicken sandwich whatcha had grilled mushroom and onions with Havarti cheese on a toasted and buttered Brioche bun with fries! The sever was kind, courteous and was well informed of the menu.
The hostess, server and manager all took a moment to share a little kindness with us while we ate.
The food was delicious
The staff was incredible.
The bathrooms and the restaurant were all immaculate
If I ever find my way back to this part on the country, I will happily go back
All in all, a great meal at a good value. I’m finally escaping New York and heading into Milford to live and so will be back regularly.

Stopped in today and am dropping my rating slightly.
I ordered the fish and chips. Still same great service but the meal was lacking. One piece of fish and a handful of lukewarm fries. The problem with serving food in a metal bucket (the fries) is that the container acts as a heat sink and pulls it from whatever is stored in it. $20 was too much.
I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with salad, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw (add a soda and it came to just under $30). I should have known it would be mediocre when the menu featured a reminder that brisket is fatty.
The meal came out in less than 10 minutes, at which time the waitperson said she could bring my salad out when I finished the meal or make it to go… when I declined, a better place would have offered dessert instead since they missed delivering my salad. Nope. Then I realized I had no silverware except the unnecessary steak knife that came with the plate. Staff told me just to grab something from another table. Great service, huh!
The meal was less than mediocre… think Denny’s on an off night. Blah!
What a shame that this once beloved, formerly locally owned, Milford institution has fallen. There are better options to be found. I won’t be back.
