Several of the ramens have a unique yuzu flavor to them in a lighter broth. Making it hearty yet not too heavy. Simple but elegant sushi bowl options. The only drawback is the price. All lunch entrees are essentially $20+ before tip. I don’t think that a lunch Ramen should cost $25, but it is tasty. Expect to pay about $75 for a lunch for 2 people.

On our second visit, I learned more about AFURI. I didn’t realize they were known for yuzu ramen, and trying it for the first time was a surprise — the citrus adds a brightness I’d never had in ramen before.

This time, the kiosks were gone, replaced with a physical menu stacked with new offerings. We went for the Yuzu Shoyu Ramen, Buta Gyoza, Crispy Bok Choy, and a Yuzu Limeade.

The ramen broth was refreshing, though I prefer a squishier style of noodle. The gyoza had good flavor but lacked that crispy layer. The bok choy sounded fun since I’d never seen it before, but the crunch didn’t add much. The limeade was the perfect cooldown, and I spotted a solid lineup of bar drinks I’d come back for.

Overall, AFURI shines for what makes it different: yuzu ramen and refreshing drinks. The sides are hit or miss, but if you want ramen with a twist, this spot is worth it.

I enjoyed everything that I ate and drank.

I came in for the day in LA.

I think my most favorite part was the k i r i n slushie Beer.

It was Soo good.
I took to go the k a r a a g e and the crispy pork g y o z a, so I can’t speak on those yet, but I’m looking forward to enjoying them.

For those who struggle with acid, I’d say avoid purchasing the spicy items, because they use a more acidic oil that is enjoyable if you don’t have that issue.

They do have other spices on the table to add that flavor enhancer that aren’t so acidic oil rich .

Edit: as leftovers it was fantastic.

This place is unique. It’s tucked away, parking (especially at night) seemed dangerous, but there were people jogging, walking their dogs, and riding their bikes which made me feel safer. There are a couple of $5 parking lots nearby if that helps. The service was really good, they were very attentive. The set up has booths with tables on the right side of the restaurant, but the majority of the restaurant looks like a cafeteria with long tables and chairs. The food was okay. It’s good for large groups.

Nothing like a belly full of ramen to start off a Sunday visit to LA.
Every dish had this evening was excellent!
The Tonkotsu Shiyo, the gyoza, the mini fusion tostadas, just great!
Part of me wants to think I just miss LA that much but they’re definitely doing it right here at Afuri
Our server Tom was very kind and attentive too!
I would most definitely be back for my ramen fix

A good place to hang out and grab a bite would summarize this spot. We got the fried gyoza, yuzu shio ramen, and tonkotsu ramen. They were all decent taste wise. I wouldn’t get the gyoza again but the Yuzu Shio ramen charsu pork was reaaally soft and tender and delicious! The broth was unique and nice too. It was a good amount of food. The presentation of the food was nice, and the ambiance is lively and social. It’s a good spot for a big group since they have long tables. The service was also good; they did what they needed to do and were friendly. Overall this is a decent spot but overpriced.

Such a unique dish that is a signature at Afuri – yuzu broth ramen. It’s so different than any other ramen, and the yuzu is so good!

I also tried the hamachi don today, the fish is fresh, chili garlic was so tasty and added great flavor to the don.

Super recommend this place for a fun vibey ramen joint.

I love a good, spicy, satisfying ramen — and this place delivers. I’ve been twice and always order the Yuzu Ratan ($19.50) and Tori Karaage ($13). Both are consistently well-seasoned, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The yuzu adds a refreshing twist to the broth, and honestly, it’s so good I end up drinking the whole bowl. Great hangover cure!

The atmosphere is casual with friendly service, an open kitchen, and convenient public parking nearby.

Also, their Kyo-Tansan soda water is super fizzy — it lives up to the “extra carbonated” label, even bubbling up through the straw. My friend loved it, and the free refills were a nice bonus!

My boyfriend loved Afuri in Japan and he was just as happy with the taste and quality of this US location, particularly the Yuzu Rattan. The sourness of the chicken broth and saltiness was perfect! We came for a Dine LA special which was a clam broth ramen (it’s not pictured or available anymore,) which was okay, but the Yuzu Rattan has yet to disappoint us. We have also ordered the Kare Tsuyu Tsukemen which isn’t pictured, but it was really wonderful, and the noodles were bouncy, and the dipping broth was both sesame-y and yuzu-y! The pork belly and in it was sweet and salty which made the soupless entree amazing.

The cheesecake the Dine LA special came with was fine; it with candied nuts but we aren’t nuts about it.

As for the scallop carpaccio, I would die for it just because I love scallops and yuzu. We ordered it twice so far and have loved every time.

They also have a beer that can be topped with a slushy foam! It’s really refreshing after a long day!

The servers are super attentive and great; even if some dishes take longer, they’ll check up on you and they are really a great staff from our experiences. Definitely check this place out and leave wobbling out.
