I been here many times and never disappoints. The food is great and I always bring a friend over when they are craving for their first time udon, ramen or their creative ideas!
Now my friend had his first proper udon experience and he really loved it! (He had pork curry udon)
Highly recommend the taco sushi and the spicy washugyu bukkake ramen. Now if you love the soup itself more than the food then… this might not be for you as the soup is pour on top of the food but the base is much more concentrated as they mentioned. I have no problem with either and it’s actually very tasty. So if you are adventurous and want to try something out of the ordinary this is recommended for you!

Oishiiii Japanese lunch special. I loved my pork katsu donburi. The restaurant is quite cozy, and spacious. The server was super nice with me. I will definitely come back to try everything. Worth the price and experience!

This Japanese restaurant had authentic booths and served delicious food. We shared pork gyoza, which was incredibly tasty. I also had fatty ramen, and my friend had beef rice bowl. Both dishes were delicious, and I highly recommend this place.

Love this place!!! One of our favorite places in NYC & favorite place for Asian Soup/Noodles. Sushi is great as well as the appetizers.
Super Hidden Gem .
Only thing that is not ideal is the seating (few tables and one big table), but the food makes up for that many times over.

The sushi here is simply outstanding—beautifully presented, precise, and deeply satisfying. The ambiance is calm and refined, the service warm and attentive without being intrusive, exactly what you want from a Japanese sushi experience. The Nagatoro stood out in particular: rich, flavorful, and delicately plated. Thoughtful touches like offering both spicy soy and regular soy were appreciated. The miso soup was a clear, comforting broth, and the salad was crisp and fresh. Everything felt considered and well executed. Absolutely worth the trip from the Upper East Side, and very much a place I’ll return to.

Love the ramen and udon here! They have a great sake selection and a long table where you sit amongst others so it’s casual seating.

Peak rainy day destination. The best ramen & udon by far, and their ingredients are
very high quality. The service is excellent as well, they let me and my friends stay and chat during the lunch/dinner swap which was incredibly kind. Love coming back to this place!

Hidden Gem for Authentic Japanese!
This Japanese restaurant was a delightful surprise! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The chef’s attention to detail truly shone through. He even recommended a special cold ramen dish, perfect for a scorching NYC day – it was a visually stunning and refreshing combination of chilled noodles, crisp and colorful vegetables, and a perfectly cooked slice of chashu pork. I paired it with a refreshing Japanese IPA, and the flavors were incredible. Service was top-notch, and I felt genuinely cared for throughout my meal. Highly recommend this place – I’ll definitely be back!

Came in for an impromptu dinner date and eating at Samurai Mama was perfect! The dishes were all playfully vibrant in both presentation and taste. We ordered the Fried Shishito Peppers & Brussels Sprouts and the Squash which both tasted delicious. For our entree we got the Kinoko Tsukeji Udon and their special Cold Ramen. The Kinoko Tsukeji udon tasted savory and deep with the dipping aspect making for the perfectly textured bite every time. The special Cold Ramen was refreshing and zesty. For a dad’s night, these two dishes felt balanced and delicious. Can’t wait until next time!
