this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. I’m from Houston and whenever I come in the first place I go. Best chili best burgers, best hotdogs.

I always have a nice time with the young people there as I am 72 years old.

Don’t miss a chance to try this restaurant you won’t be disappointed

FLAVOR ~ We stopped in on a Friday for lunch while waiting for our bikes to be serviced at Jet City in Renton. Easy to get to and well worth the drive. If you love chili this place has several to try. The all time favorite is the Texas red. You can’t go wrong with the all time favorite. And of those with a full flavor pallet, I recommend that chili Verde. Smoked pork with tomatillo and jalapeños and some beer. It is a very flavorful experience. The brisket and beans had a great Smokey brisket and sauce.
I recommend getting a cup of three to try. And try their corn bread with honey butter.
This is a must stop in and try for lunch.

Amazing chili. Great biker-bar atmosphere. Friendly service. Hearty serving of delicious chili verde or regular chili over either jalapeno-Mac-‘n-cheese or grits. I had the brisket and beans. Fresh-squeezed limeade and a huge assortment of beer and liquor. Great place – will definitely go again.

We went to Slim’s for lunch today & found out they are closing on 20 Feb 2026. The owners are going to open a place near Palm Springs with their recipes. We had the crawfish po’ boy with homemade fries and the chili sampler plate with 2 oz of all the chilis, mac & cheese, cheesy grits, & fried flour tortilla strips. What a great way to taste everything. We brought home a quart of the brisket & bean chili. It was great with cornbread. Anyone who likes good chili in an eclectic place should check it out before they close!

We heard, “4 types of chili” so we had to try it! 2 of us had different chili and it was super yummy. I had the Texas Red and he had the Brisket N Bean. We tried eachothers and liked them but much preferred our own taste. You have a lot of choices of toppings to add too. I like that if you add them all then the price is better than if you had added them all and paid per topping. I was given some wrong toppings but it was very quickly replaced and they were very cool and hey, stuff happens.
The beer was great and a good selection and there are cocktails. The place was very clean and comfortable. They do have nights with bands but the lunch crowd was a mix of all from businessmen to bikers. Not loud or rowdy at all. The wait staff was very aware and on top of it.
We ordered just the chili but you can put it on top of cheesy grits or jalapeño mac’n’cheese which sounds so good so we will be back. The guy sitting next to us couldn’t stop moaning how good his sandwich and fries were so we figured he was the owner or something haha but he said he was just a customer.
We also kind of liked seeing all the large spice jars on the kitchen wall. We knew it wouldn’t taste like canned chili and it sure didn’t!

My beloved Slim’s. What an amazing venue, restaurant and bar. A timeless roadhouse with a punk rock soul, chile verde so good that I’ll drive 2 hours just to get it, and whose Halloween Cramps tribute nights will go down in Seattle history. Beer in mason jars, back patio with a flatbed trailer for a stage, pinstriping and hot rod art galore. Back in the glory days of the Seattle Rocka/Psychobilly scene in the early to mid 2000s and 2010s, this place was a staple – The Hard Money Saints, The HotRoddin Romeos, The Dusty 45s, Redneck Girlfriend, The F-Holes, Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies… just to name a few of the amazing bands who graced that stage. So many great memories.

I just heard the sad news that they’ll be closing on Feb 20, so y’all better pull a Newman from Seinfeld and go get a big pot to get all the chile verde you can before it’s gone for good!!!
