We did have to wait, unfortunately outside and it was raining. I think that was the only drawback of the experience. It would’ve been nice if they had an awning to stand under instead of Standing in the rain. The place is too small for people to wait inside.
The coffee is absolutely top-notch — bold, smooth, and locally roasted. You can tell they take it seriously here. And the menu? A total dream for breakfast and brunch lovers. My hubby always orders the 2-2-2 and I get the Eggs Benedict. They are always on point. The Breakfast Burrito and Crab Benedict are also winners, packed with flavor and fresh ingredients.
What really sets Spoons apart is the service. The staff is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to be there. Even when it’s packed (which it often is), they keep things moving with ease and a smile.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through Federal Hill, do yourself a favor and make time for breakfast at Spoons. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again — and bring your friends along next time.
The coffee we had was fabulous, both in presentation and in taste. We tried the egg nog coffee, the marshmallow coffee, and their regular black drip, all great. Yes, the marshmallow coffee actually comes with a toasted marshmallow!
The food was fantastic too. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and the food came out quickly and hot. I love that they have great sweet and savory options for brunch.
The only odd thing was that there is a little bit of a rush here to turn the tables to new customers. I totally understand it though. With a great restaurant like this in such high demand and with such little seating, you need to keep the hungry people flowing so everyone can have a chance to enjoy it.
If breakfast had a love language, Spoons would be fluent in it. From the moment you walk in, it’s like stepping into someone’s cozy kitchen — the kind with delicious coffee, warm lighting, and the smell of something delicious wafting from the stove.
The atmosphere? Pure comfort. It’s not just “homey,” it’s actual-home vibes. You half expect someone’s grandma to pop out and ask if you want seconds. And the food? Tastes like it was made by someone who knows your soul — fluffy eggs, golden potatoes, and that hot cider? A mug of autumn magic. Sweet, spiced, and so good it should come with a warning: may cause spontaneous happy dancing.
Service was lightning-fast and genuinely friendly, like they were happy you showed up (because they probably are). If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that wraps you in warmth and feeds you like family, Spoons is your place.
