This is the perfect place for authentic French food!! It’s no wonder that Le Rivage has been here for 40 years – the food and service are utterly amazing!! Our family travels and dines out a LOT and it’s extremely rare that we are given a “WOW” experience. Le Rivage checks every single box of perfection from the moment of arrival. The ambience is romantically charming and cozy. The menu offers traditional French cuisine and each bite is incredible!! Le Rivage sets the gold standard for restaurant service; every establishment should strive to emulate their staff’s excellence. Highly recommend!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! How many times have we walked on 46th Street and passed by this restaurant? I cannot believe what a hidden treasure this restaurant is! Our family of 5 decided to try something new for the first time Friday night and it was the MOST WONDERFUL experience and delicious food. All 3 of my teenagers were blown away by the experience and have all said that this was their favorite new place. We will absolutely return to Le Rivage. Highly recommend!

My husband’s Bday lunch was phenomenal. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a lovely Maitre’D and from server to sever assistants, everyone was extremely friendly and courteous. They were professional yet not contempt. The food was divine. Everything was seasoned just right, not too salty nor too sweet, just a perfect balance for each dish. I loved every dish we tried including their drinks. The staff even sang happy birthday for my husband at the last course since we were celebrating my husband’s Bday. I am still thinking about the food we had at Le Rivage. It was a beautiful cozy place and with impeccable service and delicious food, I can’t wait to go back. Thank you again for such a wonderful meal and your hospitality

We had a wonderful dinner at Le Rivage. From the very beginning, the front staff warmly welcomed us and even helped arrange our large suitcase, which we truly appreciated.

The food was amazing. The Moules de France was absolutely fantastic, perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. For our main dishes, we had the ratatouille, beef stew in wine, and duck à l’orange. The first two were impressive and delicious, while the duck was a bit too sweet for our taste. After mentioning it to our server, they kindly changed it to a mushroom risotto without showing any impatience, which we really appreciated.

To end the meal, the crème brûlée was my top pick. It was creamy, rich, and the perfect finish to a lovely evening.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic and heartwarming French cuisine.

Honestly I have nothing negative to say. The atmosphere of the restaurant is classic and comforting, the staff is attentive (we never had a situation where we couldn’t get a servers attention), the appetizer, main and dessert combo is incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. The quality of the food and cocktails was immaculate. The portions are also comfortable allowing you to sample a few options.

This restaurant has been sitting in my bookmarks for 2+ years. I go to Broadway shows VERY often but never came here cuz I thought it will take too much time to dine here. I had some free time today around, finally came, and I’m so impressed with what they offer. Warm cozy environment that quiets your nerve, that duck salad is the perfect balance I need to start the meal, and in a cold day like today, the coq au vin was like a warm hug, looooveeee it! What a gem! And a super good decent meal didn’t take that long, if you hurry one hour is doable! Will def come back and recommend to my show friends!

We came to Le Rivage to celebrate Christmas, so our experience may not be reflective of their usual experience. First, let’s start with the service. The staff were all very friendly and kind, where they were welcoming and receptive, but only when they finally have time to attend to your table. After we sat down, it took approximately 30 minutes before a waiter came to us to write down our order. It doesn’t seem like there’s any waiters that are assigned to specific tables, and since it’s Christmas they all appeared very preoccupied. It took another 20 minutes for them to clear our entrees. Although inconvenient, we understand how busy and short staffed they were on Christmas, so hopefully this was a unique experience given the holiday rush.

For appetizers, we started off with the foie gras, which was the BEST I ever had, with a playful and delicious play between savory and sweetness that paired perfectly with the soft brioche! I can’t recommend this dish enough and hope they add this to their regular menu! The escargot was plentiful, but a bit light on the seasoning, which was an easy fix with the table salt. The deviled egg was on the blander side as well, which was just okay and not too memorable. The French onion soup was INTENSELY flavorful, which I simply caution can overpower other more milder dishes.

For the main we got the highly recommended Beef Bourguignon and the Blanquette De Veau. The Beef Bourguignon was unfortunately disappointing, where the short rib was chewy and a bit rough, which is evident in the video when I couldn’t cut right through it. The red wine reduction was just okay and not as flavorful as we’d like, but I guess to each their own. The Blanquette De Veau had a wonderful sauce that paired perfectly with the scallion jasmine rice, but the veal was also quite rough and not that enjoyable, kind of tasted like white meat chicken chunks. The mushrooms were delicious and soaked in all the flavorful sauce, but the carrot wasn’t cooked long enough where one piece was soft and the other hard to the bite.

Unfortunately the entree was disappointing and really detracted from our entire experience, especially given how much we loved the foie gras. It’s possible that this is a one off experience given how busy they were, but it definitely made our Christmas celebration dinner less enjoyable. Le Rivage has a lot of potential, especially since the foie gras knocked it out of the park, and perhaps their other selections may be more enjoyable than the ones we ordered. Unfortunately we didn’t get the opportunity to enjoy the same wonderful Beef Bourguignon that many other diners raved about. I hope Le Rivage will continue to strive towards perfection, for this restaurant was beautiful and the staff, when they’re available and not rushing, were very sweet and considerate, especially Stephan. The other waiter threw our check on our table because he was in a rush and our card fell off onto the floor, which although I understand things happen, it was nonetheless not that pleasant to witness and experience (I believe the host/manager Tommi saw this but didn’t say anything). Gigi was also very sweet and helped our little daughter put on her little jacket; thank you Gigi!

Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Great dining experience. It was my friends birthday! They knew her name a candle with her dessert. Tasty food! We got in early with a reservation and by the time we left it was packed. Very quaint and nice atmosphere. Staff was all helpful and attentive.

We got the prefix with app, entree, dessert. Tasty at each serving. Thanks!
