The hotel staff recommended this restaurant to us but I don’t think they would have eaten here; it felt catered for tourism business with hot chips on the menu and lots of seasoning. Food taste was ok but we’ve eaten better elsewhere. We thought the laab gai would come with rice but it didn’t. The food presentation felt too trying.
Restaurant clean and service is fast.
Whatever you choose, just amazing. Don’t forget the fresh coconut water…! Enjoy
It’s one of the best value-for-money meals we had in Thailand. Portions were generous, prices very reasonable, and every dish delivered on taste.
The staff were really friendly and helpful
Would come back in a heartbeat next time we’re in Khao Lak.
The fish cake was delicate and blended with glistening fish patties that were bouncy and vibrant. The Seafood Salad with Herbs was served warm with very fresh and perfectly cooked seafood. The Tom Yum was the creamy version and the duck curry had a decent amount of duck breast the looked deceivingly small but seemed never ending.
At night, the have a selection of seafood cooked on the BBQ. We selected the scampi that was quite pricey at $300 Baht each but cooked perfectly and served with a Nam Jim – spicy dipping sauce.
Would recommend this restaurant to anyone where the staff and polite and always have a smile of their face!
The staff in Mali is warm and attentive.. service is quick .. my drink order came in 3 minutes..of course BBQ takes time .. 20 to 30 minutes minimum so I was happy to wait . I had ordered chicken with baked potato. At first they served potoato without skin but I requested potato with skin which was complied with pronto. The meal was truly delicious and healthy. Due to most guests enjoying the food and atmosphere, the vibe of the place was palpable. Music was good. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Thank you Mali for the wonderful dinner which I will remember for long.
Service – excellent. Waitresses were attentive and enthusiastic. Dirty dishes were cleared from the table right away. Though they do not speak Thai (likely from Myanmar), they speak English very well and can communicate with foreign tourists better than they do with Thais.
Food – tourist taste. One dish I ordered “Laab Gai” was sent back to add a key missing ingredient “roasted rice”. The stir fry veggies and vermicelli were decent.
Drinks – banana colada was horrible. Banana essence was used instead of real banana. The taste was a total fake. Though the price per glass was cheap at THB 129, we would rather not drink fake stuff. Real banana is cheap enough in Thailand. This is the first fake banana colada we had in Thailand.
Atmosphere – better than most establishment. Clean and catered for foreign tourists.
