I like a good flame grilled burger and unfortunately, it is not the item to get here. It is mediocre at best. Logan’s, Long horn, and Chili’s are far better for a good hamburger. The broccoli was cooked beyond recognition, limp, soggy, and completely tasteless. My wife liked the baked potato, and the salad bar is probably the best in Hartselle. I cannot talk about their steaks as I haven’t had one here. The atmosphere is good ann decor is interesting. The service was also good.

Great restaurant with several menu options to choose from. The catfish is always great and the hamburger steak is a favorite as well. Today I opted for the lunch ribeye medium rare and baked potatoe, it was served with a slice of bread. The potatoe must have been prepared in the microwave. The peel, the most nutritious beneficial part, was a bit dry, scorched and wrinkled. I suppose these days baked doesn’t always mean baked- many folks use the microwave, I prefer not even owning one, much less using it to prepare food. This is just a guess from the looks of the tater- maybe I’m mistaken. The steak, makes up for that ole shabby tater. It’s so delicious, I sank my teeth in and took a bite and it’s tender as butter. That is what’s important here, these folks can cook a steak and boy oh boy, that seems to be a talent that becomes more and more rare. Compliments to the chef. Also, this place offers lunch specials until 4 pm that are much more reasonably priced than anywhere else around and the food is superior! I’m traveling, just passing thru for now and I was a little nervous about eating a steak with plastic flatware but it’s so darn tootin tender I don’t even need the ole plastic knife. I asked for a tiny 2oz ramekin of A1… for my potato and please note: I wouldn’t dare let it touch my steak- it’s fabulous! The sweet young lady working the register was the sweetest, most well mannered and professional thing. She deserves a raise or a promotion. She did such a great job multitasking and answering my questions along with accommodating me. Great experience overall. Clean place, with the cutest rustic theme. Fits perfectly in the town which is all rustic-y. If you want a good steak, drive here!

Love this place! Ate here for the first time a few weeks ago & loved it. Service was great. Food was amazing! Portion sizes are perfect! The salad bar was soo soo good! Always delicious everytime ive been so far. The cost per person is so much better than going to fast food or something. Everytime always speaks to us & ask how we’re enjoying our meal.

Ughhh! The food was beyond disappointing!!! Cheesesteak was tiny, like for a kids meal. Mac & cheese was not edible (don’t know how you can ruin that!). Hamburger tasted like a frozen patty. The $28 steak was supposed to be a trimmed one pound ribeye according to the menu. What came out was small—couldn’t have possibly been a pound—looked more like a sirloin, and a third of it was fat, with big chunks of fat hanging off that had obviously not been trimmed. Onion rings were cold, after a long wait. Ice cream tasted like the cheap stuff, not even creamy. Salad bar has absolutely nothing special, looks like cafeteria food in a nursing home. The atmosphere is awesome, cool decorations, however I will never ever go back there to eat. HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. They should be embarrassed serving what they’re serving. When I went to write this review I saw many, many reviews that said they used to be good but their quality has gone down. This must account for why they had good reviews in the past because the reviews misled me and after eating there left me dumb founded and literally sick.

We were driving through & got here a little after 5 on Valentines Day, seated by 5:30. Tiffany was wonderful. I really enjoyed the special! The strawberry shortcake was amazing, but I forgot to get a pic!

Driving south from Kentucky, we started looking for a local restaurant, not far off I-65, with a menu that would let me find something low sodium. They had a decent salad bar, and I ordered grilled catfish and paid $1.25 extra for a baked potato. Husband had a Philly cheesesteak with fries and a a pickle. I gave him the coleslaw that came with my fish. He said the folks in Philly would be shaking their heads, because the sandwich was not typical. But, we both cleaned our plates. Unfortunately they were out of the fried apple pie that he wanted for dessert. We arrived just after 1:00 and the restaurant was fairly packed. Not surprised they were out of a couple of desserts.
The dining room is decorated in vintage signs, and old memorabilia. It was fun to look around. The staff was very nice, but trying to clean up after the rush, which I’m not a fan of while I’m eating. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Food quality has went way down over the years. Best thing here is the salad bar. Ate here for a date night with my husband and got the pick two, steak and shrimp. The shrimp was so pitiful, it looked like it had been half eaten. I honestly would have been embarrassed to serve that to my customer. The steak was so over cooked that it was hard to swallow despite my request for it being done to a “medium”. If we go back here again, it will only be for the salad bar.

This has become my favorite restaurant because of the food service and atmosphere. The cheesy wedge potatoes are wonderful and the most different new taste for potatoes. I love their grilled lemon peppered catfish fillet which is my favorite choice when I go there along with the wedged potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. They also have a huge salad bar. There is a lot of 50s memorabilia throughout the restaurant. You check out in front of the 1957 red Chevrolet. Very unique and dining experience

Used to love this place but our last visit was disappointing. I was looking forward to a good steak all day but it was over cooked and I like med rare. My sister’s was under cooked and my mom said hers was too dine. The waitress was rude to my mom and slammed a coffee cup on the table and told her I’ll pour this in front of u so you see it’s hot. That was uncalled for just because my 76 year old mom said the coffee she brought was hot in the thermal cup. She was just snappy with mom from the get go and I’m sorry but we will not be back. Also my mom put 5 on the table as a tip and me and my sister was paying at counter and all she seen wa the 5 for a table of three and she looked our way and loaded said SERIOUSLY!! I was in the process of leaving a tip but that lowered it. It was the table right by where they bring the food out. A tall heavy set older ladie. This just disturbed me and ruined our experience for a good daughter and mom dinner.
