This restaurant is newly opened near us and we went at lunchtime to check it out. I had received a recommendation from a friend and was curious to see how it held up to their praise. Arriving at noon the seating area was almost full but we managed to snare a table. We both had the small barbecue plate that comes with two vegetables, hush puppies, and fried pork rinds. The vegetables were quite good. We sampled Butter beans and white corn combination (my son calls this succotash but I disagree since it does not have tomatoes as an ingredient), fried okra, baked beans, and brunswick stew. All were clearly freshly made and the brunswick stew was not mushy as can happen if it has sat too long. The hush puppies were fresh and the pork rinds were crispy. We ordered banana pudding to finish our meal and it was a very good pudding with a nice ratio of pudding to wafers and bananas. The service was excellent. Our waiter left a little marker on the table while we were eating as a reminder of her name and possibly as a reminder to pay at the register at the end of our meal. Overall, it was a lovely meal and we will be back very soon.

Went to the new location at Quail Corners Shopping Center and although it does not have the same feel as the original location, it absolutely has that Clyde Coopers vibe. Food is still 10/10 and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to see what they do with this new location.
If you haven’t yet tried Clyde Cooper’s, you need to go first for the pork bbq and then get the fried chicken – it’s the best fried chicken in Raleigh!

So glad to have real BBQ in N Raleigh. Once they get settled in, get their routine down, and make this place their own, we will be so happy to visit here regularly!

My official favorite BBQ stop after landing in Raleigh ! Totally worth struggling through without lunch and waiting to eat here..! Iconic barely describes it! Among the top recommendations I get from all kinds of folks for best bbq in Raleigh, so good. I love the classic kitsch decor, affordable prices and of course the perfectly executed food. Speedy and friendly service to boot. I always make a point to eat here when I’m in town.

We were so happy when we heard that Cooper’s was taking over the Quail Corners location from RH&B. We visited this morning. MAN, did north Raleigh need some old time BBQ! We had the chopped plates, my wife had Mac N Cheese and Brunswick Stew, I had Cheerwine Baked Beans and Slaw. She had the sweet sauce and I had the vinegar based. Everything was delicious. Can’t hardly wait to go back!. Service was friendly and quick. I was quite hungry so I didn’t stop to take pictures. I’ll get some next time.

Pathetic.
I couldn’t believe the chaos from such a well-established Wake County Restaurant staple.
I’ve been goin 50+yrs now. This can’t be the same management.
I was excited about the new move to Quails. But this is place is just toooo small and there is NO parking. It’s a previous gas station. They don’t have ample parking. They been open a month I was told and still don’t have a sign on the building. They got the lil short wind flags that say BBQ. The pickup trucks blocked all of them from view. I passed by it 4 times. Then on the inside there’s 4 seats to wait for takeout orders. So 3 couples behind us were standing in the floor and in the way of the customers and servers. Jus chaos. I would say the prices were decent but nope cuz all my food order was not in my bag and I paid for in advance but I refuse to go back and subject myself to that circus. Plus I’d already waited 20 mins in everybody’s way.
The pork was tender but vinegar was just poured over it. Tasted nothing like Cyde Cooper Sauce. Just fresh vinegar. The plates looked good they were taking to the dining hall looked but I had a takeout and mine was very skimpy. And like i said, 1 of 4 items were missing from the bag. What a waste of money and time. I was very disappointed. It was Awful and I won’t be going back.

Great flavors, friendly service. Had the three meat platter. Only thing was brisket was a little dry and tougher than use to. Overall highly recommend a place to try.
