Can’t beat! Just came from Cooper’s BBQ at Forth Worth and Grand Ole is a fantastic experience on Texas BBQ without leaving San Diego. Brisket and TX Hotlinks, our favorites (and the beer selection and wonderful day at the patio with love music and family atmosphere)

I can’t comment a lot on the atmosphere or service since I got my food to go. It’s going to be very difficult to go and get BBQ from anywhere else. I was a super fan of their beef ribs but after having their brisket I’m a customer for life, my pictures can’t describe the smokiness of the brisket. Hat off to the pit master this person knows the art of BBQ. You have to try it your self Im sure you won’t be disappointed. Great job Grand Ole. Your staff and specially your pit master should get big props and maybe a raise. Can’t wait to go back for more brisket.

The reason I gave Grand Ole, Flinn Springs a five is cause it is one of the best BBQ spots in San Diego. True, deliicious and expertise shows. The Flinn springs location has a great vibe up in the mountains, live music and just a cool place to hangout.

We ordered the Brisket which was melt in the mouth with crusty edges, the link and the ribs which were great. The beans were unique and there are a bunch of sides to try. All in all a great place to try, worth the drive.

I heard about Grand Ole BBQ in Flinn Springs so my husband and I decided to visit after our hike. Let me just say everyone’s palate is different when it comes to BBQ flavor. My husband ordered a half pound of pulled pork, a half pound of brisket and a side of white beans with bacon. I ordered the The Big Ole Loaded GOB Smash Burger and it comes with crispy fries. He abslutely loved everything that he ordered. (I tried a little bit of the pulled pork, and brisket for me not a fan. The pulled pork had an off flavor on my palate and the brisket was too fatty). The white beans with bacon were delicious. Now the smash burger I ordered was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten, the crispy fries were crunchy yummy. For dessert we both ordered the Texas Flood Pie (we should have just ordered one) rich and out of this world delicious.
They do have a full bar but since my husband and I don’t drink we had their sweet tea. It was okay not that sweet.
The following week after another hike we were going to go back but it was on a Saturday and the place was extremely busy so we opted to just drive home.
We will visit again (but only during the week again because it was not crowded) to try other menu items.
They have outdoor seating also and bands that play. Do if you enjoy music with your dinner you will enjoy eating here.

Tonight was our ladies night out for a friend’s birthday. It was perfect by the firepit for ambiance. Our server Eileen was awesome and attentive and friendly. Pics and video of food posted. Favorites were the brisket and coleslaw.

I’ve had a lot of BBQ in my life in many different states, but I’m always searching for more!

My wife found this place through word of mouth. It’s been on her list for a long time, but we haven’t had a chance to go since it’s so far out from the city. It’s basically next to Alpine!

We went there around 3pm for happy hour on a Thursday and the place was pretty empty. The bartender came and took our order and she was very attentive. The restaurant has a western vibe with plenty of outdoor and inside dining. They even used butcher paper to make a menu!

We tried a few things from the happy hour menu including the smash burger, fries, and pulled pork sandwich. The burger and fries were excellent, but they were way too salty. The pulled pork was not salted enough but was very tender. It went well with some sauce.

The brisket was a little dry at one end, but was beefy, and had a good smoky flavor. The Mac and cheese was creamy, gooey, and cheesy.

The beef ribs were by far the best thing we had though.

Tender, juicy, beefy, savory. Probably the best bbq beef ribs I’ve ever had!

Overall I would say this place is worth the drive and the price (we paid about $130). Come hungry!!

A great place to enjoy delicious BBQ. The ribs are superb. I especially enjoy the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Cole Slaw. The ambiance is true Country Style. It’s a favorite community spot; so body of the time is crowded. However, on weekends, it’s standing-room only; parking is extremely limited. Be prepared to park on the street and walk to the restaurant.

Took a little while to wait on us because they were hosting another business’ Holiday Party. But once the wait was over the magic began.

My wife fell in love with the Beef ribs. They are dinosaur size and delicious.

I personally like the baby backs.

My boys were full which is not something that is easily done.

Don’t skip the fresh veggie sides….

Have always loved Grand ol’ BBQ, been there dozens of times. Was there Sunday with the live music (Beatles cover band) and got there when they opened. Not sure what was up, but the place was packed and as i looked around, no one had food on their tables, apart from a couple tables with sandwiches. We started with nachos (no meat) and that came out pretty fast. As the place filled up, there just wasn’t food being brought to tables, except sandwiches. I watched tables around us order, and it’d be an hour before they got their food. The servers are also bartenders so we rarely saw our waitress. Normally there are trays of BBQ being brought out continuously. That day, it was almost all sandwiches. Now, the BBQ meats are very expensive, so are people just deciding to get sandwiches instead? Who knows. We ordered some of all the meats. Everything was good but the brisket — swimming in grease and more like pot roast. We’ve had better days at GoB and definitely will go back, just yesterday wasn’t that great.
