Haven’t been here in a few years. Still the same great customer service and smiling faces. The food was perfect and always hot.

We had dinner at El Michoacan Mexican Restaurant and thought the experience was good. The atmosphere is festive and very colorful. There is ample seating, booths and outdoor seating. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food is good but not what I would consider great.

Located just off the interstate, with easy on an off access.
I really liked the menu and the different items they offer!
Just like the chori papas. I liked the way the potatoes were prepared.
The chunky guacamole was great, too.
Nice little salsa bar has many salsa options to choose from.
I’ll definitely stop in again

I went to El Michoacán on a hot summer day after walking around what’s left of the Gaffney outlets. We were tired and hungry, so this place looked like a good spot to cool off and grab some food.
One of the best things right away was the free salsa bar. It had a bunch of different sauces and dips. If you go, please try the chipotle sauce and their pepper salsa. Both were so good with the nachos, I honestly could’ve just eaten that.
We didn’t waste much time and ordered right away. I got the chipotle chicken. To be honest, it wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be covered in chipotle sauce, but it came out pretty dry with just a lot chicken strips, a bunch of lettuce, and some rice. I ended up mixing in a bunch of sauces from the salsa bar, which made it better and more enjoyable.
My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish, but there was a bit of confusion. What she got wasn’t exactly what she asked for, probably just a miscommunication with the server. We didn’t say anything since we were hungry and just wanted to eat.
Overall, the place was nice inside and had a comfortable vibe. The food was alright once we made it work for us. For the price, it’s a pretty good deal. I’d still recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a chill and affordable Mexican spot.

I was traveling and stayed at the hotel next door, so we decided to try it out. They have a big menu. We ordered the steak tacos and fajita QUASADILLA. QUASADILLA was whole they didnt cut it at all. Alot of.it was just tortilla and nothing in it. I am assuming it was not good my wife ordered and did not eat it. She also asked for.sour cream, and they guy told her $2.50 for sour cream… LMAO.. REALLY. SO the tacos had a funky smell to them, but they didn’t taste that bad. They were definitely basic steak tacos. Not like a street taco but some chopped up steak on a tortilla. Idk thats my review on what we had….

Some of the staff is friendly and some are kind of put offish and aren’t super friendly but they’re not being mean either. Maybe just a language barrier thing. They’re very efficient and have a hot meal out to you within minutes even for a large group. The food is always delicious and sometimes they go out of their way to make you feel special like give you a free fresh flower on mother’s day when you take you kid to go eat with you. My favorite Mexican food place in gaffney hands down.

I have been frequent patron of EL Michoacan for many years. There’s nothing on the menu that doesn’t taste exceptionally good. The service is fast and efficient, portions are generous and always served hot. The management and staff make sure you feel welcomed and appreciated.
There’s no option to give 10 stars but I definitely would do just that. In meantime I’m looking forward to visit EL Michoacan again and again.

Amazing authentic Mexican food. I’m from Texas and it was like going back home. We brought our nephew here for his Birthday Dinner and they had him wear a sombrero, sang Feliz Cumpleaños and smeared whip cream in his face which apparently is a tradition. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for great Mexican cuisine!!!
