My friends had been recommending this place to me for months, and I kept postponing my visit — what a mistake! This place is truly an experience. I can’t wait to bring my family here when they come to Miami to visit me soon ☺️

And the atmosphere itself here feels already like a family. Even if you come alone, it’s the kind of place where you can easily meet someone new, and servers remembers name of all regulars — what a warmth!

Pro tip: arrive at 5pm to put your name to their waiting list, then return for the 6pm to sit first!

Absolutely fantastic experience at Katana! The service provided by Martín was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was a delightful journey of Japanese-Peruvian fusion, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with unique flavors. The ambiance perfectly captured the essence of both cultures, blending traditional Japanese elements with vibrant Peruvian touches. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience!

I’ve been eating at Katana for many years and it’s always a great time. The food is delicious, the vibe is fun, and I always leave feeling happy after every dinner. The wait is always worth it. One of my favorite spots.

Absolutely mindblowing, the salmon sashimi literally melted in my mouth. Everything was absolutely perfect. The wait time is a little long but it’s absolutely worth the wait.

The true sushi experience. Nothing fancy nothing boujee, just very good Japanese food. No reservations, you might have to wait 40 mins to 1 hour but worth the wait. Perfect place for a date. Try not to be more than 3 ppl. Definitely will go back.

It was a beautiful evening for sushi. We put our names and numbers down and wait for a call. The call came within 10 minutes. It does take longer most times. It was time to dine. We got seated as the little boats came around on the water trail we took our favorites. This was an awesome experience. You have to try it out. Good was delicious. The servers were awesome. Call you by your first name. 10/10 experience. Cheese cake temporas awesome.

I was very skeptical about this place at first due to the long wait time. The food was so amazing though. It was honestly very affordable and absolutely delicious. The place is packed and there is a really long wait time but I assure you its worth the wait. The staff was super nice and honestly i really loved my experience there. I will be coming back soon.

I consider this a one-time visit spot. Despite many positive reviews, it isn’t anything particularly remarkable.
To get in, you need to arrive an hour before opening and sign up on a list with your name, phone number, and party size. We arrived 20 minutes early and found about 70 people waiting ahead of us.
There’s no waiting area; you’ll stand outside. Customer service is quite poor-they seem to have enough customers and don’t care if you stay or leave.
Inside, space is limited, and food is served via small boats crossing the river. The water looks dirty, similar to a tank, and dirt can be seen on the tables and around the food. Most boats are empty, so you just take what appears; there’s no option to choose specific items unless you place a separate order.
The restaurant is very small, probably fitting 25-30 people. I waited 2 hours to get in, had 15 plates, and spent over $77, not including tip.
Next time, I’d prefer a buffet with the same quality but less hassle.
It’s just a place, and I don’t understand why people line up here.
If I had a choice, I’d say don’t go.

I was on the waitlist and never got to eat here. They skipped our names and called other people, the hosts were extremely rude. Instead of apologizing for misinforming on the wait (which was approximately 45 minutes and then they added another 45 minutes) they kept trying to say it’s the line we don’t control it. If you don’t control the line then don’t give an estimated wait time. But hey! If you’re looking to bring your dog or eat with dogs that aren’t service animals come here. I’ve got dogs but I’m not bring them to enclosed place of business. And if you like being insulted by “wannabe” Y2K girls and “woke” folks who don’t know what happened come here.

The mediocre quality of this food is not worth the wait. We arrived at 5:20 PM to write our names on their waitlist and were not called to be seated until 6:40 PM on a Saturday.

The fish is decent for the price point. However, the sushi rolls kept falling apart. The boats are cute but because there was only one chef working, most of said boats were empty. We ended up ordering mostly from their standard menu.

Unless you live nearby, write your name at 5 PM on their waitlist, and simply want cheap / mediocre sushi – this should be a hard pass.
