KC Sushi might look modest from the outside, but inside it’s lively and welcoming. I went in for sushi but couldn’t resist the teppanyaki. The chef was friendly and entertaining, doing all the classics from the flaming onion train to tossing shrimp in the air. The food was tasty, though my scallops weren’t as fresh as I’d like and had a bit too much lemon perhaps to hide this. The place was not spotless but fun, and since Gojo’s closed, it’s great to have a spot nearby that still delivers that classic hibachi experience.

This is my wife’s favorite restaurant,. You’ll feel right at home, at this cozy hibachi. Delicious drinks, I recommend the Mai Tai. Fantastic sauces accompanied with savory proteins and fresh, prepared with humorous precision. You’ll love this place!

Pretty disappointed with this place this time around.. I have been coming here for years, so when I made a reservation for 11 people for the hibachi side for 8pm I didn’t think I would have an issues.. my whole party was there at 8 on the dot. It took 30 mins for us to be seated. After that it took another 45 mins before we even saw our first bit of food, mind you if was just the soup and salad. So after being there for 1 hour 15 minutes we were finally able to eat something.. this id far from the service I have encountered anytime before..the food was good as always, that is the only reason for not giving a 1 star.. I understand they were busy. But that is why a reservation wad made… do better. You cant charge those prices and give horrible service.

By far the best sushi place in the Northland. I’ve eaten here for years and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The staff is very polite and courteous. After establishing myself as a repeat customer they began recognizing my number (when ordering over the phone) and remembering my favorite dishes. I wish them continued success and can’t wait for my next visit.

Not my recommended spot for high quality sushi but this place is super enjoyable and inexpensive for when I’m craving sushi! The happy hour prices can’t be beat! I’ve only tried a couple things on the menu so I’d love to try some more! The salmon nigiri was very fresh and enjoyable and I totally would recommend this place, especially if you want enjoyable, inexpensive sushi! (Happy hour)

This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! I had read other reviews that raved about the sushi and they were so right. We ordered the sashimi plate, eel roll, tuna roll and spicy salmon roll. My husband also got the steak and chicken teppanyaki and it was perfectly cooked by a super entertaining and talented chef! We can’t wait to come back.

Our meals were delicious! Our server/cook, at our table was awesome! He was fun and nice! He was really good at entertaining and talented. All of our food was really really good. We’ve been to a lot of Japanese hibachi grills and this was by far one of the best!!

This is the best sushi restaurant in Kc. The Joplin roll is delicious. I also got fried rice. Hibachi chicken was excellent as well. We come back all the time. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it.

My wife loves this place. We prefer to sit at the sushi bar and interact with the chefs. Service was quick, sushi was cold and tasty.
The Hiroshima Ice Tea is very strong.
