This is some of the best Hawaiian food in Las Vegas. Fresh ingredients, incredible flavor. We had the loco moco, chicken katsu, Unlv combo (garlic chicken and teriyaki chicken), the famous five star (kalbi ribs, chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, fried chicken), and a spam musubi. The loco moco was delectable. It had that authentic Hawaiian flavor. It was hearty and filling. You can tell from the taste that the gravy was made from scratch. The patty was fresh and not frozen. They also asked how I wanted the patty cooked, which most places don’t ask. The eggs were cooked how i requested (over easy). The rice with furakaki was a nice touch and paired well with the other flavors. But you can ask for it without furakaki if you prefer. The garlic chicken was incredibly flavorful. The katsu chicken was perfectly cooked. It was lightly breaded and lightly crispy on the outside while the chicken was tender and juicy. They didn’t overcook anything, which sometimes happens with katsu chicken. The katsu sauce was homemade and delicious. The kalbi beef ribs were great too. Awesome flavor and meaty rather than being full of fat. The teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef were incredible too. The spam musubi and fried chicken were good too. Everything here was delicious. The atmosphere was just a casual Hawaiian restaurant. Few tables and they give you your food in the to-go containers. If you’re looking for authentic, high quality Hawaiian food in the Las Vegas area, Lefty J’s is the spot.

Heard about this place for a while and been meaning to stop by. Came specifically for the “Robust garlic chicken”. It’s garlicky, crispy, sweet, and flakey fried chicken. Solid dish and they have a good collection of hot sauces at the table.

Friendly staff, I can see that this place is super popular near UNLV campus.

Friendly atmosphere, Local Hawaii vibes. Everything on the menu is good. Love their fried chicken and garlic chicken. Kalbi was nice and tender. Variety of hawaiian sun drinks available also.

Came here on a whim as we couldn’t decide where to eat and it was the closest to our hotel. We were greeted by a friendly man who was very patient with us. We got the garlic chicken, beef short ribs, and kalua pork. Food is made to order so you can expect a reasonable wait – the food is very good. We would come back here again. Famous people have entered these door and said the same thing. You’ll see their pictures on the table near the register giving the thumbs up. The establishment is roomy, clean, and the Aircon on blast. Enjoy!

From the moment we came in, we were welcomed warmly and they explained the menus to us. I went with the robust garlic chicken, and that’s some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The boneless thighs just give it that extra edge. The Mac salad was also simply fantastic, and I got to try a Hawaiian Sun for the first time. I’ve had other Hawaiian restaurants in Vegas and this is far above the rest. It’s also better than any food I’ve ever had on the strip. A true locals’ joint just east of the UNLV campus.

I was referred to this place by my Lyft driver and he was spot on! I was inquiring about a Local Hawaiian food place especially one that served a tasty mochiko chicken place! Well this is the place! I ordered a fried chicken and meat Jun combo and it came with 2 scoops of rice and cabbage. Very yummy! Maka and Juhl were very friendly and offered great customer service! There was a decent size dining area with many tables and chairs to accommodate their guests. Before leaving Vegas, I made sure to visit one more time and met Jeanette who is one of the owners. She is super nice and friendly as well. Give this place a try! They’d love to meet you! And the portions are generous!

Hands down the best food I’ve eaten in Vegas. The owners are super friendly and coincidentally when we ate at Top of the World we discovered that the owner of Lefty J’s used to be a chef there per our waiter. When I tell you this place is phenomenal take my word to the bank. We chose off of the Hawaiian menu and were not disappointed. Just go eat here and order whatever you like. Everything was so dag on good. I had the garlic encrusted chicken and almost bit my fingers off. The hubby had the Lefty J’s care and he was impressed. The female owner recommended it and I’m so glad that she did. I will post the pics below but they honestly don’t do the food any justice. Trust me, try this place. If we lived in Vegas we would def be regulars.
