The “salsa” was the biggest disappointment. It was overly sour and sweet with absolutely no spice—it shouldn’t even be called salsa. On a positive note, the fresh chips were good, and the prickly pear margarita was a definite highlight.
The main dishes also missed the mark on authenticity. When ordering a carne asada plate (which literally means grilled beef steak), I was surprisingly asked to choose my protein from options like chicken, shredded beef, or pork. That makes no sense and suggests a lack of understanding of traditional Mexican cuisine. The draft beer selection was also underwhelming; the corporate draft tasted very watery, similar to a Miller Lite.
Overall, this place feels less like authentic Mexican food and more like a high-end Taco Bell “Mexican” experience.
I was in today for lunch and the place was dead. The food was bland and the waitress ask us for refills for water and ice tea, but it never came even after asking. Same thing for chip and salsa. Hopefully they can turn things around
Cute restaurant, great patio. The staff was very nice and attentive.
There were no prices for the beverages ie…margaritas, it’s just nice to know how much they are with-out having to ask. The salsa, well not good.the green salsa had a funky flavor, sweet. The red salsa very bland no flavor.
Our food, disappointed. No real rich flavor. It was a bummer.it was on a Friday night, and it was pretty dead in there.
It’s too bad, the place could be really good, just need to step it up on flavor. Good mexican food has such wonderful flavor.
