We stumbled upon this place just outside of Smithville and it ended up being a real gem. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese and it absolutely hit the spot—easily a must-try. Honestly, the entire menu sounded tempting, full of cozy, comfort-style dishes that make it hard to choose. The vibe inside was warm and inviting, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Save room for dessert—the peach cobbler was fantastic. If I could rate it higher, I definitely would.

The food here is always fresh and full of flavor, with portions that feel worth the price. The menu has a nice variety, and everything I’ve tried so far has been cooked just right. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and family meals. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the place feels well-kept. It’s the kind of restaurant you can count on for a satisfying meal every time

I had never been to this restaurant before. I arrived at a fairly busy time but was almost instantly seated. The waitresst did an excellent job. My iced tea glass never got less than half full. My hamburger was delicious (I forget the name but it had bacon in it). This restaurant is a long way from my home but I promise, if I am in the area again, I will stop again.

PROs: No wait time, quickly seated to a table. Waitress, Aubrey, was kind and attentive. Good location. Establishment simple decor and clean environment. Complimentary cornbread due to long wait.
CONs: Parking is limited. Card table size for 4 adults of average size (was informed this is the only size available).
We ordered Fish & Chips (not shown); (2) Kozak Burger, & Cajun Pasta. *light portions on Cajun Pasta, plate full of pasta garnished with 2-3 shrimp pieces.
We heard great things of this place. Not impressed on our 1st visit but we’ll give it another try.

If you are wanting a great meal and friendly service north of the river, please try out this wonderful place. Service is always top notch. I work nights and often stop by to pick up my dinner for work. Their steak quesadilla is my favorite. Better than any Mexican restaurant. High quality steak. Im always greeted with a smile and the staff is so friendly. They use the beat high quality ingredients and local beef. If you haven’t been here, please make a trip up north for some amazing food. Their drinks are great too!!

My husband and I drive ball here all the time. Today we finally checked it out. We just so happened to show up during a happy hour and our yummy appetizer was only $5.00. Honestly being the first thing we ate today it truly did fill us up. The southwestern egg rolls and the sauce were delicious. The crust was light and crispy. I ordered a Taco salad and my husband got the special which was pork belly burger. Ordered our daughter fish and chips to go, she said they were really crispy and good. We only wanted water today, next time we will try drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant, pleanty of seating, the inside matched the outside colors of the building, clean and inviting.

We’ve been hearing great reviews about KoZaks in Smithville, Mo and decided to check it out. We arrived for an early dinner, 4 pm. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We chose a booth, but there were plenty of tables and high top tables in the bar area. We ordered appetizers: pretzels and beer cheese along with onion rings and a glass of blackberry wine. All delicious! Pretzels and cheese were my favorite. The wine was also a favorite-from a local winery in Smithville (Ladoga). Our dinners were a KoZak burger with bacon and fries. Fish and chips, coleslaw and fries. Burger was good and cooked per our request. Fish was hot and good. Tried the fish with malt vinegar and their homemade tartar sauce. Fries were average. Wish the coleslaw had more flavor. Our overall experience was good we will return to try KoZak Specialty dinners after 5 pm.

The appetizers were good. But the steaks were just so so. Mashed potatoes and fries were cold. The food took awhile as well. Maybe they were short staffed. Our server was nice and was doing her best.

I remember coming here years ago it was fantastic. I went back for the first time in a long time last night. We came at a busy time for dinner. We waited to be seated like the sign says, no one looked our way, greeted us or even let us know “we will be with you soon” we waited awhile. So, I decided to go to the bar to ask someone to seat us. We were seated. Then greeted by our server that lectured us about why we were waiting to be seated.
KoZak’s use to be a nice place to go. It looks very run down now. Paint missing off doors and various places, bathroom was not very clean when I used it and doesn’t look like it had been kept up through the years of running a business at all. The whole place doesn’t look kept up.
KoZak’s you need to spend a little time making the place look like it once had.
