What a great evening and a great alternative to dining in Monaco. Cheaper, better and less prententious. We had cocktails in the city first (Le Limun cocktail bar at the Hermitage Hotel) and then got the train from the Central station out to Cap d’Ail. The restaurant is very close to the station, the train time is only five minutes, make sure you get off and don’t overshoot like we did!

Walking from the station to the restaurant is easy when you know the way – make sure you are on the northern platform (the one for trains back to Monaco), walk 5 metres into the car park then 20 metres left, then look for the stairway down some steps and through a tunnel underneath the train track. This is not the tunnel that connects the two platforms, it is a separate tunnel a few metres further away from Monaco. At the end of the tunnel steps turn left and you’ll see the restaurant on the cliff edge 20 metres away.

The restaurant is all outdoors, but cozy under a canopy and operates all year because they keep people warm with heaters and blankets when it is cool. (I think they will be closed for some repairs for 2 months late 2025).

You can hear the sea and see the lights across the bay. The speciality is fish and the food was great. There was also a gentleman singing opera arias, very professional and friendly, low-key and relaxed. The staff were great, the food and drink were super. We had a really good evening and then got the train back to Monaco.

Highly recommended – we had a great evening.

An unforgettable seaside experience!
I had dinner at this restaurant with a stunning view, right next to the waves. The relaxing atmosphere, sea breeze, and sound of the water created the perfect setting for a special evening. The food was delicious – the fish was fresh, simply prepared but full of flavor, and the fruit dessert was the perfect ending. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
The ideal place for a romantic dinner or a peaceful outing with friends.

I was completely amazed by this place. It has every attribute that I consider necessary for a restaurant. The food is spectacular, the portions size are generous, the atmosphere is great, the decor looks like you are living a dream, an amazing view and the staff is very friendly. I can’t really this place enough. Just enjoyed every second I was there.

Atmosphere was exceptional with the waves breaking on the rocks below the moon starting to shine from the sunset. The tuna was amazing with the best vegetables. Alicia was amazing and very attentive. Definitely make reservations and enjoy the ambiance.

If you’re in Nice, you must go to this hidden away restaurant. It honestly had amazing views, food and atmosphere. Yes, expensive but so worth it for a special occasion. you have to park a bit uphill then walk around but it was very scenic.

We came here after visiting Mala beach and stopped for a quick drink. We didn’t realize how fancy the restaurant was, and we were in beach attire (still fully clothed) during dinner time. We stocked out and thought we might get treated poorly given how we were dressed. However, we were warmly welcome, staff was so friendly despite our appearance. We didn’t feel rushed out, we got the fried calamari which was DELICIOUS as they also fry their vegetables to our surprise. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks as the view was to die for! Overall great service and tasty food.

I had such a great experience at La Pinede. After long three weeks of hosting an ungrateful family in the south of France, my husband chose this beautiful seaside restaurant to finally rest and relax recommended by the amazing people at Barclays Monaco. The food was delicious and the portions were just perfect. Our waiter Matteo was so kind, positive and welcoming and helped us choose the perfect dinner. We got the splint lobster pasta and filet. He was so kind to take the time to help us with the lobster, we will get it again next time for sure and ask for Matteo! The valet was also very nice Sebastian. I cannot wait to come back to this beautiful restaurant, highly recommend if visiting Monaco or anywhere in the South of France!

Restaurant was great. We went for a coffee and they didn’t have as many options as they do with meals but we made do with mocktails, coffee and the desert of the day which ended up being three pieces of different desserts – loved the framboise one, very sweet but in the best of ways.
The staff was all super friendly and they tried to accommodate us in front of the water as soon as we arrived, giving us the best view possible. There were people but it was quiet, super relaxing and the bathrooms were all clean and stocked. Very good for either your first hours in Cap DAli or the last ones before the train

I came here for lunch with 3 friends. The members of staff were incredibly nice, and I felt welcomed and encouraged to stay a while (which cannot be said for many restaurants around here).

I ordered the grilled octopus, which left me somewhat disappointed; the octopus could have been better seared, and was possibly the least flavorful element of the dish.

The best part of this restaurant is the view, followed by cocktails and dessert. The food was well presented, but did not fully hit the mark. For the area, this restaurant is very good.
