I recently had my daughters baby shower at Val’s Restaurant and I was so pleased how PERFECT everything was- the food the service the venue! From the beginning I knew Val was going to take care of everything. Val is very attention detailed, she made sure the tables were placed exactly where they should be and while decorating even offered suggestions which was extremely helpful! The room looked absolutely gorgeous- the food was beyond delicious and every one of my guests complimented the food and the service. There were plenty of options to choose from as far as food. The waitstaff were professional and helpful and kind. The whole day was flawless. Many of my guests said they will definitely return to Val’s. 10 stars! ⭐️

Very busy restaurant at 2:00 PM. We thought perhaps they had functions going on in other rooms.
Seated and waited on promptly. Husband’s food was good. Pasta and spicy sausage. My rueben sandwich was just ok. Really didn’t have a taste or a lot of saurkraut or sauce. French fries were also just ok. Great waitress. A bit pricey for the food we ordered.

We went for lunch, which made it easier to get a table. There can be wait times in the evening. They only take reservations for large parties, I think it is seven or more.My friend had the swordfish and said it was very good. I had small salad with seasoned steak tips. Their house dressing is bottled and at the table. It is tasty. No drinks, no dessert. They offer bread rolls when your server comes to your table. Our waitress was very nice. Will definitely come again.

We went in last night and the place was extremely busy. Val greeted us right away and found us a perfect high top behind the bar since we were just doing drinks and apps. Our bartender Ashley was fantastic. I requested a drink not on the menu and she made it perfectly. Even though it was super busy she kept checking in on us. We got a couple apps that came out quickly and we’re very good. Another server Maggie helped clear our table, get boxes for our leftovers, refilled waters all while having a smile on her face.

Typical small town restaurant. Not bad but nothing that is going to “Wow” you and make you want to come back. The menu is conservative and basic. It took us about 20 minutes to order due to the lack of variety on the menu. There were a lot of baked pasta and seafood items in casserole dishes as well as other items that every restaurant has. Overall the food presentation was good. The food itself was good but nothing that blew us away. Our waitress was nice but it took a while to get our appetizer out (Bruschetta). Overall an average restaurant with above average food. Worth it if you live in Holden but I wouldn’t go out of the way for it.

The Nutty Salmon was to die for! Plus Val’s a real hard working mother. The staff she has are great young, smart minded hard workers too. Thank you all involved in making a Great Mother’s day! This year we used Val’s Catering Service for our at home Holiday Party. Our guests raved about the food and had 2nd and 3rd helpings of her Chicken Marsala and Pasta Primavera. The salad was delicious as always and presented beautifully. Everything was phenomenal. Val and her staff always go above and beyond. Wishing everyone an amazing and healthy 2026.

I had my baby shower at Val’s in Holden this weekend for about 30 guests and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the staff did a great job setting up the tables while allowing us to add our own personal touches. Our Mother’s favorite restaurant was Val’s, so it was fitting that we held our Mothers Celebration of Life in the beautiful event space.
Val and EVERY single person we had contact with there were personable, knowledgeable and helpful. When we arrived early , everything was set up perfectly. Special food accommodations were a breeze and we can’t say enough about the wait staff, delicious food and perfect service. The price for the value is outstanding.
