Reviews
The structure of the place feels relaxed on purpose. People settle in quickly, like they’ve been here before, even if they haven’t. Conversations stretch. Plates arrive generous and unapologetic. This is comfort food that isn’t shy about being comforting. Fried chicken with a crunch that actually matters. Biscuits that don’t pretend to be a side dish — they’re a statement. Honey that somehow tastes like it knows what it’s doing.
Then there’s the contrast I didn’t expect: despite the richness, nothing feels heavy in spirit. You don’t get that post-meal regret, just a pleasant slowing down, like your body and brain agreeing to cooperate for once. The cocktails lean playful, the staff leans human, and nobody acts like you’re on a clock.
Tupelo Honey isn’t about novelty. It’s about generosity — of flavor, of portion, of mood. You leave full, yes, but also oddly taken care of. And that’s not something every restaurant manages to pull off.
The GM named Rami is a wonderful young man who made us feel immediately welcomed and appreciated. He met us at the door and made us feel truly welcomed the minute we crossed the threshold. On top of that, our server named Charis was/is an absolute gem. Our entire party of 5 fell in love with her and her outrageously upbeat demeanor and attention to our needs. When I return, and trust me I will return, I will go my best to fit in her section again. Not only did Charis act as the host when we arrived, she ended up being our server due to a short staff situation and then she ended up closing the bar when a fellow employee found it necessary to leave early.
I don’t typically write about food but EVERYTHING we had was really good.
I’m not typically a fan of chain restaurants but somehow everyone on fire made this place truly feel like a family owned/family run establishment.
You owe it to yourself to try this place. I am confident you will enjoy your experience.
UPDATE: Two of us returned the next day for brunch and I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Today we were waited on by Jacob who couldn’t have been any better. I also met Scott from the cooking line who came out and asked us a question. Each team member only have really nice things to say about their team partners.
Rami as the GM is doing a great job from all I can tell and was on site once again and stopped by for a visit and gave us a desert on the house.
I will return on my next trip.
The only downsides were a few service hiccups. It took a while for our food to arrive and we had to ask twice for water and also for a glass for my beer. These were small things but still worth mentioning.
That said, the quality of the food and the great vibe of the place made it a worthwhile stop. We’d definitely consider coming back the next time we’re in town.
Everything is delicious, the Team is professional, friendly and they help each other!!! Rami has a great team and his MVP is Charis!
