I had an amazing dining experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server Cheyenne. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. She knew the menu inside and out, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect.
What really stood out was her positive attitude and professionalism. Even during a busy rush, they stayed calm, friendly, and efficient. Our drinks were always refilled on time, our food arrived promptly, and they checked in just enough to make sure we were happy without ever being intrusive.
Exceptional service like this truly elevates a meal from good to unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back — and we hope to be served by Cheyenne again!

This is not the first visit for this cantankerous group of grocery store employees being set loose on this establishment for a good time, and it WONT be the last! I’d like you to ponder why. Why is this specific restaurant the BEST Mexican Restaurant the Lower 48? Because CHEYENNE…that’s why. She needs a cape, plaques on the wall, and the damn Key to the city of Fort Worth. This greatest server in at least the last 100yrs and possibly more, will live in the history books of Great Service at the Greatest Mexican Restaurant for Generations. We’ve been driving past this restaurant for the past 10+ years and finally got around to trying it. Such a pleasant time! The greeters, servers, and managers were so welcoming making sure we had a great experience. They told us about bingo Tuesdays, karaoke Wednesdays, and the other fun-days.
We sat outside and enjoyed the music and breeze.
THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE GREAT! Most places bring out a big salsa bowl to share, but they already served it separately for us which we appreciated. Everything we ordered tasted fresh. Will be back!

Habanero was an average meal experience, 3.5 stars. The restaurant needed a deep cleaning (or at least my booth did) and the service was friendly but inattentive (drinks never refilled, never asked if we wanted more, bill had to be requested ). They were pretty much empty so it wasn’t because our server was busy. Chips and salsa were tasty and I appreciated the sauce bar- really enjoyed all the different types they had. Food was a mixed bag. Husband likes his fajitas- said the meat was overcooked but seasoned well and still enjoyable. I was mixed on my spinach mushroom enchiladas. It started very bland, but when I added habanero salsa, jalapeno sauce, and diced onion/cilantro mix from the sauce bar it made them much better. I will say, the mushroom spinach mix inside was cooked well. The rice and beans I left uneaten as they were the low of my meal. Rice was overcooked and flavorless, beans were salty and tasted like they came from a package. Just not worth the calories for me. The cocktails were excellent, so kudos to the bar tender.

I went here for a dinner party Friday night. There was no wait because my party was already there. Overall the place was very rustic and dirty looking, the bathroom smells of urine I went to use the restroom and changed my mind immediately. Our server I can give credit to because she tried her best and it was a large party. However, the food was NOT GOOD!. It took forever to come out, it was no flavor or seasoning and very dry. The vegetables were undercooked and bland as ever, I didn’t even ask for ribs but I guess to “accommodate “ they were given but VERY BURNT. I’ve never been to a restaurant and been this disappointed. Only thing good were the drinks.

Upon entering on a Thursday evening, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by JD, who, despite typically being the cook, took on the role of our attentive host. His professionalism and genuine hospitality set the tone for what would be an unforgettable meal.
Eager to explore the menu, we sought JD’s recommendations, and he enthusiastically suggested the Baja Platter. This sizzling sampler was a feast for the senses, featuring two Texas Twinkies—stuffed jalapeños filled with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with a honey sriracha glaze. Accompanying these were two chicken flautitas, two beef empanadas, and chicken fajita quesadillas, all served with a trio of queso, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The quesadillas were a highlight, boasting a cheese pull that stretched over two feet, a testament to their gooey perfection.
We also indulged in the HABS Fajitas, a vibrant medley of skirt steak and chicken, sautéed with fresh bell peppers and onions, served sizzling on a skillet. This dish came with charro beans, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and warm tortillas, creating a symphony of flavors and textures. We couldn’t resist adding three ‘fall-off-the-bone’ ribs, which elevated the meal to new heights. Every bite was a celebration of taste!
What truly set our visit apart was the heartfelt letter typed by the owners, placed on each table. Their sincerity and passion for family and community resonated deeply, leaving us with a sense of connection that brought a tear to our eyes. It was clear that their love for humanity infused every aspect of the restaurant.
To our delight, owner Laurence took the time to check in on us, a rare and thoughtful gesture that made us feel valued as guests. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Habanero’s for their dedication to excellence and for providing such remarkable hospitality. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and our server efficiently took our drink and appetizer orders. However, her engagement with us ended there, as another server delivered our food. We needed to proactively request drink refills and, eventually, the bill. Throughout our meal, multiple staff members, including our server, walked by without offering assistance or checking on our satisfaction. It required a visible signal from me, raising my empty glass, to prompt an older staff member to attend to my needs and offer a refill. Although the restaurant’s service excelled when new management took over, our latest visit was disappointing due to the poor service, despite the food quality remaining high. Having previously enjoyed our meals, we gave them another chance, but unfortunately, the subpar service persisted, leading to our decision not to return.

We love coming to Habaneros. All the staff is amazing. We love them all but Rachel, Cheyenne, Ashlynn, Ethan, Lacie, David and the Bartenders Blake, Roderick, Chivo have all been excellent when serving us. The kitchen staff has always been amazing especially JD. The management is super nice as well. We will definitely be back weekly and I will be celebrating my 50th birthday here as well. Highly recommend!!!
