Just. WOW. very impressive pizza tucked in the quiet part of derby, just down the road from dew drop wings.

I was right about leaving early to get a seat. It’s a small joint with an even smaller parking lot. Server was warm, friendly and immediately noticed that it was my first time and showed me the massive portions of the dishes served there. I ordered a medium meatball pizza and the shrimp Florentine that I regretted because of the tall price. The shrimp was huge, and plenty on the pizza so they made sure it was worth the money. Short of that it was amazing. All the seafood pizzas including the Connecticut signature clam one is around $40 or so and it only comes in medium. So be advised should you order anything like that.

It’s very old timey and a warning that it’s cash tip only. If you don’t have cash, you have to write down the tip to have the server manually enter it in on the tab.

My complaint is that I cant decide where it goes on the pizza scale. It’s very close but below the three big pizza places but only by a tiny margin. I would put roseland pizza under zuppardis.

I don’t think I can recall another pizza place where I kept saying “WOW.” I will be back now that I know what to expect.

I am now able to see why this place is always at the top of so many lists. Wow, even after a 20+ ride back to my house, the pie was still hot and most importantly: crispy. A robust sauce, top notch toppings and a crispy, no flop crust? This is everything I want in a pizza. I wish I lived closer.

Vintage interior design and very friendly staff. The shrimp casino is delicious — the the pizza texture is kind of like a less salty version of Frank Pepe’s. They give a generous amount of shrimp and bacon, but at $45 it still feels a bit pricey.

Pizza took forever, but wow it was worth the wait. Don’t miss out on the homemade sausage as it’s perfect. I also got the chicken, prosciutto, and spinach white pie which was delicious. I’ll be back. I think it’s up there with all of the New Haven spots

We loved that we could have beer while we waited for a table, service was friendly and attentive, and the food was not New Haven quality, but good. Unfortunately, we will not be back due to the abundance of fruit flies and gnats swarming around our head and food. There are other reviews stating the same. They need to seal the place up, renovate and exterminate. Another reviewer from the last week said their party got stomach sick after eating the food there. The place could be great if it were cleaned up for the safety and comfort of its guests.

Roseland Apizza lived up to the hype for us!!! Quaint little establishment where the locals love to eat! We got there around 4pm and there was a wait when we left at 5:00pm. Pizza was delicious. They make the sausage in house, so we went with that!

Side note, the Derby High School down the street looks like one of the nicest high schools I have seen!

Decided to try Roseland’s after the high rated reviews. Pizza was okay. I would not recommend the mashed potato pizza, was not great. The cheese pizza was very salty, they offer additional garlic, I would not recommend as the sauce has a strong taste of garlic and very salty.

New Haven style done in a gas oven. Slightly more mozz than the big three, cooked perfectly just without the coal fired char, basically. All fresh tasty ingredients just the same, I could taste the San Marzano, Pecorino, and quality mozz. The dough is a thinner style roll out, same as any other Apizza. Nice crisp bottom and nice chewy hard to tell where dough and cheese meet texture. Friendly hard working staff. Got my pizza in 20min on a Friday!!! Stellar, try them out you won’t be disappointed! 7.8/10

Almost looks like a hole in the wall type joint. Step through the door and you’re treated to some of the best pizzaa the pizza state has to offer. Homemade fresh bread is also top notch. Fried mozz is fire, and the house salad was good, but comes with pepperoni.
