Social Profile:

Vovomeena, a breakfast spot in Phoenix, is a diamond in the rough-to-get-to location. But it’s well worth the effort of a visit. Hidden in the back corner of a mini complex on Seventh Avenue and McDowell Road, it’s easily missed. You’ll know you’ve found the spot when you see the signs for Chipotle and Five Guys Burgers and Fries — Vovomeena’s fast-casual neighbors. Finding a place to park is another adventure, but one that should not be abandoned. For inside, the rewards of fresh squeezed orange juice, cold-brewed coffee and an array of breakfast dishes await. Open since 2012, Vovomeena is named for founder DJ Fernandes’ grandmother — vovó means grandma in Portuguese.

Warmly chic restaurant with a patio, offering clever breakfast & brunch plates, plus coffee drinks.

So excited that we came across a Facebook article saying people were driving over two hours just for the pancakes—Vovomeena’s did not disappoint! The blueberry pancakes were hands-down the best I’ve ever had.
The cashier clearly knew all the regulars and even asked how we heard about them. He was familiar with the article and mentioned they’ve had a ton of new visitors because of it, which was fun to hear. The setup is great: you walk in, place your order, then find a seat. Super easy and efficient.
The entire staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly. Everything we ordered was delicious. Seating both inside and outside was very nice and comfortable.
And honestly, the bathroom says a lot about a restaurant—this one had it all: clean, a candle, and great-smelling soap. That attention to detail really stood out.
Anytime I’m in the area, I’ll absolutely be stopping by Vovomeena’s again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Place was good. Food was delicious. My only irk was that you have to look at the menu and order before you’re able to actually get a table. Aise from that, staff was very nice, place was clean, food tasted amazing!

This was a cool place to eat breakfast at. I ordered biscuits and gravy. There are a lot of food options here and a place I would want to try again. The staff are friendly and my food came out in a timely manner.

I’m honestly so Satisfied! Ordered the Mexican Benedict, and only ate 1 Sope, and saved the other for later ❤️ The potatoes could’ve been cooked longer, but it had yummy seasoning and still was overall so Tasty! It was expensive on Uber Eats, I paid $30’total but honestly, it felt like a special homemade meal from Nana So it was worth it lol especially because I was too lazy to cook breakfast this morning, Tasty tasty tasssttyyyyyy ✨

My wife found this place for our anniversary breakfast. It’s a nice cafe with a cool vibe. We had the waffle plate with eggs and chicken sausage, the sausage / egg sandwich with potatoes, and the coffee cake. The waffle and eggs were a solid choice. The waffle was soft inside and lightly crispy outside. The breakfast sandwich was especially good due to the soft bread. The coffee “cake” was just that… a slice of cake. A large portion and unexpectedly unique. We took this home and we found it to be a bit bland (but could’ve been because it sat for a while in the take out box). The food was good. It’s a tad pricey but isn’t everything these days. The location is a bit far from us but if we’re in that area it will be a consideration for us to return.

Cute little breakfast place! The savory crepes with chicken were pretty good, although they could definitely use more seasoning. My wife’s omelette was good too, but the side of seasoned potatoes were especially a standout and I definitely stole some off her plate! My latte was fine, nothing spectacular, but perfectly serviceable.
Overall, I could see coming back here in the future to try out their more unique items such as the johnnycakes.

This place is growing from word-of-mouth, which is how we found out about it, and so happy we did! We’ve been here about a dozen times now, and everything is consistently good.

Traditional breakfast food, but higher quality ingredients than most places.

Their locally sourced coffee is exceptional!!! That alone makes it worth the extra drive!

Nothing is ever greasy, and their baked goods, and especially their blueberry pancakes, are delicious.

We appreciate the cleanliness, the funky decor, but most especially, the attentive, kind staff. Kaj, the manager, has always been exceptional, going above and beyond. Can’t say enough about this little hidden gem of a place.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! My husband and I came here 7 years ago and it was delicious. We don’t eat out for breakfast much but came back today for breakfast after my son’s graduation and it was just as delicious as it was years ago. You can taste the freshness in every meal. We had waffles, bacon, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, johnnycakes, chorizo and eggs.. it was all very good. The restaurant is clean and the service was great. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fresh, authentic, good breakfast spot.

This is a nice little care type restaurant. They have really good food, my goodness. The banana bread pudding French toast is so good. The servings are big enough for two. My friend and I only ordered one entree and shared it. It was getting a little warm at the tables by the windows at around 9:30. I wanted to leave due to the temperature. Otherwise, I really loved it. Very cute inside and out. I love their copper looking water cups. Pretty art in the dining area. I’ll definitely be back with friends.
