Driving Back to Texas from the casino & we stopped at this place. Oh my so glad we did! The catfish AMAZING. I got the fish po’ boy & it’s huge! My mom got the seafood platter and her Cajun rice was just delicious! Definitely worth the stop. Workers are also EXTREMELY kind!

My family and I frequentFaustos many times a year as we pass through Kinder .We have always been satisfied until today, February 9, 2026. We ordered seafood platters with fish, shrimp and oysters. We have had oysters our whole life in South Louisiana. The oysters were very bad they tasted bitter. We told the young man that waited on us, who was very nice that the oysters were bad and inedible. He conveyed the message to the manager and offered us more oysters, which we had already told him we did not want. The manager made him put it on our table anyway. We felt like as a good manager/owner he should have come out and apologized for the oysters, but he did not. He sent the young man out to talk with us, which he tried hard to fix the problem and was very respectful to us. I believe from now on as we travel through that area, we will opt for Roy‘s rather than Fausto‘s.

I tried this for the first time and ordered the chicken sausage gumbo. Taste was typical,…. But the chicken was 2 giant chunks that I needed a knife and fork to cut up. The sausage was cut into but size slices. The gumbo itself was thin tasteless broth with under cooked rice.. I won’t order that again. Sorry,, but really disappointing. The indoor of the place is nice,,, giant alligator and a dozen other stuffed animals. Wish they had real silverware and not land full plastic junk.

Wasn’t impressed. Crawfish poboy tasted fishy. Only one size of gumbo – large. Can’t get drinking water without buying a bottle. Staff isn’t particularly friendly.

I made a meal from Faustos my last Louisiana meal before heading back to Georgia. I searched all day to get authentic Louisiana food, because we have everything, but Louisiana food in Georgia. This is where my disappointment set in, because I didn’t receive food that was authentic nor good.
To me Faustos is a HARD PASS. I hope other folks traveling through don’t mistake this food for good Louisiana food.
I come every few years to Louisiana and have stopped into Faustos 3 times and never have been satisfied, but this time makes my decision never to return a definite.
The service was horrendous, I got a rude hostess taking my order that talked non-stop to other employees, but barely said anything to paying customers.

Our first time visiting Kinder and we decided on Fausto’s for dinner. The burger was HUGE and their fried chicken definitely did not disappoint—some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in my life! It was so crispy and fresh and seasoned to perfection! Although we didn’t order the onion rings, we decided that we would get them on our next visit because they looked DELICIOUS!
We met the owner who spent some time walking around the restaurant greeting customers. He greeted us warmly and shared his story about inheriting the business. He mentioned that the restaurant has been family owned since 1989. We could tell by the smile on his face that he takes great pride in the establishment! The wait staff was very friendly and actively tended to customers the entire time we were there. Everyone who worked their greeted us and would ask if we needed anything. The atmosphere was charming and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I would HIGHLY recommend eating here if you are in town! Excellent food and fantastic service! We will be back!

I love this place! I usually order the Hamburger Steak and Mashed potatoes. It comes with brown gravy, optional mushrooms and onions, your choice of a side and a pistolette. Delicious. Apologies as I was not able to get photos.

When you walk in, you place your order which feels rushed because people are also walking in the door. You fix your own drinks, which all taste flat. The hamburgers are gross and processed meat and the fries are bland. Never will I recommend this place.

What a delight!! We were looking for something local & came across this gem. Our family had the fried oysters, fish po’boy & chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious. Employees were friendly, even bought some of their seasoning to go.
