At our Dallas, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The sign to the road is never working to let you know that the restaurant is open. The drive thru as you pull off from making your order needs repairing it has a big dip. And the drive thru speakers either needs the intercom repaired or the worker doesn’t want to take the orders can barely hear her speak. I placed an order through Uber. I ordered butterfly shrimp and fish with a baked potato and fried okra. This is NOT butterfly shrimp. It is popcorn shrimp and TOO greasy! The fish was okay. The potato was as I ordered it and the okra was great.
Everything was very salty. My dogs loved the expensive shrimp!

The general management at the Dallas location requires immediate attention. The current approach of communicating through nonverbal cues rather than sentences is unprofessional and hinders effective customer engagement. The general manager’s lack of intellectual awareness is evident, and it is imperative that they undergo retraining or be reassigned to a location where their management style aligns better with the team’s needs. One potential solution is to swap the general manager with a front-line worker, allowing the latter to demonstrate their ability to engage with customers on a more effective level. It is strongly recommended that the owner investigates the financial losses incurred at this location due to the current management practices.

My family has been eating here for over 20 yrs & today’s encounter with employees was horrible! Drive thru server was rude & impersonable & a female employee was eating food directly on the service counter. I know that is a DPH violation! Lack of proper training seems to be the issue at this time.

Update #2:
It has now been 2 weeks since Captain D’s gave us this nasty food and I have yet to receive any correspondence from anyone. Captain D’s, if you are ok with serving paying customers trash food then you just need to go ahead and shut down. I dont have a habit of paying for food that isnt edible. Just know if you eat at this establishment you may receive inferior food.

Was contacted by a reply to my 1 star review the following day asking me to contact them at an email address leaving them my info and what happened. I guess Captain D’s is ok with serving nasty food because I never heard another word from them. I will NOT spend another penny in this location. I dont have a habit of spending money on food that I cant eat.
Was really wanting fish tonight but Im not sure what I got. The fish didnt have its normal batter on it, it was battered in what looked like cornmeal. The fish looked funny, it looked like minced fish not the flaky fish that we normally get. It tasted awful and it was extremely dry. I got a 4pc meal and my husband got the 3pc meal and neither of us ate all of it. $22.97 down the drain with thrown away food. Just have to think that they ran out of their regular batter and substituted the cornmeal batter which was hard and awful. Well, I guess I will be looking for somewhere else to get my fish because I will not be back if this is the kind of food they will be serving. Even the vinegar couldnt save this mess!!!

Had the three piece fish and 2 sides(fried okra and fries)as did my girlfriend, and an unexpected surprise, a hair. I immediately told management who took care of the situation without hesitation, and NEVER tried to put the blame on me, as some establishments will try to do.
I was expecting a comp for my meal(I’m also in the food industry) but was surprised when BOTH of our meals were re-funded. The management was very apologetic, more than once.
I told the staff I would give them a good review because of the way they handled this . Great crew. Thank you

Well. This place no longer serves fresh food at all! Went to try their new hand breaded chichen tenders, never again. They might have been good if they weren’t not old and dried up little pieces of rubber. Worst chichen ever!! And I had to wait for at least ten minutes, not sure why at this point. I thought they still cooked to order, obviously they do not. You can see by the picture that the chicken tender was so dried up and old that it was almost the same size as a fry!
Waste of 20$ I tried calling the store about this issue but no one ever answered the phone. While I was there, people were eating and drinking while making the food!! Nasty
Update. Corporate contacts me in this review wanting me to contact them directly and then they never respond!!! They only did this to pretend to care.
