Can’t be compared to places in the city. Amazing hospitality. There was only one lady who did everything, waitress and cooked chicken fried stake for a steady stream of people. There are stuffed animals on the walls. It is only heated with wood. Well worth the experience.

Wednesday is definitely hands down the best day to go. Best chicken fried around hands down!!! I prefer this over any meal or other special that have, even their prime rib… Yep you heard me say that right. I try to make it on Wednesday’s after work just for this meal. Julie is always amazing. Always friendly and provides great service as does everyone else.
Pros: good service, friendly staff as well as patrons, reasonable priced.
Cons: better get there early on Wednesday because they go fast!

Took family here a few times. Just went for “Race the Joe”. This place never disappoints. Super friendly. Make a friend here and come back, they will remember your name. For sure we will be back.

Good burgers and prime rib.. Great salad bar for a small restaurant.. French fries are old fashioned real potatoes..
The restaurant is old and run down, not the best lighting or atmosphere.. But it’s a very old town and if you want a place to eat it’s your best and only option.. Waitress and chef are great and super friendly.. good menu with your reg cafe meals to choose from.

People line up outside for Jeff’s prime rib on Friday nights. This place is bursting with character and loyalty. It would be great if they had more seasonal staff (I’m currently considering moving up river for the summer) to help keep things flowing as they get bigger crowds, but the way they manage now is with some seriously hard working and interesting members of the Calder Store staff. The French fries are top notch, there are fun Calder cocktails and classics that leave you always wanting another, and some of the best conversation you can experience in this gorgeous region. Only come in if you know a special place when you see one, or if you want great food – just be nice and appreciative!

There is no reason this little restaurant and store shouldn’t be at five stars. It’s in a cool spot and has seating behind. The food is some of the best on the St. Joe. A few cosmetic upgrades and this place would be a destination for hundreds of floaters, fisherman and families.

This is the greatest fellow women and men anyone could ever hope to know. Julie (both Julies) bartendress’s are the kindest and most wonderful women you will ever meet. Just watch out for Benny… he’s rough around the edges and is a shark of the dart board …make sure Jasmine’s there to keep him under control!

Amazing people in a small town. I came to see my mom, she lives 3 miles up the Joe. I strolled into this place for the best Prime Rib and friendly bartende Julie.
