I’ll start by saying my expectations for food and service, ever since my first trip, in the upper peninsula, is lower than most places. I realize the challenges business owners face with limited options! All that said, I was ready for mediocre food and was pleasantly surprised by an outstanding smoked brisket poutine. The Caesar salad left some to be desired, but my ribeye was solid, mostly cooked as ordered, and a solid cut. Our server didn’t wow, but also didn’t disappoint, so we’ll tally that a win too. I’d come back for sure!

Excellent brews and food. The steak was absolutely delectable, Texas Toast incredible and I’d eat a loaf, Mac n cheese is one of the best I have tried. Their side Caesar was perfectly dressed and the lettuce and croutons just right. I highly recommend the flight of their beer, try it all! This place is worth a stop or several! The Copper Queen Old Fashioned was also delightful! The food is also toddler-approved!

If you are anywhere close to this place, stop in! Our server Jessica was a delight. The food was quick and cooked to perfection. One of the best ribeyes I have ever had. My husband’s walleye was great, and the craft beers were interesting and delicious. Lots of kids options. Definitely a must try!

Apparently this place changed hands for the better in recent times…
Initially, I was interested primarily because they had steak, but they’re also a microbrewery as well… I always like to drink as locally as possible whenever I’m outta town.
I’ve been to better microbreweries across the country (much less within Wisconsin), but what they had was not bad…

I had the grilled walleye with a baked potato, house salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing. It was delicious, the staff was great,. Jessica our waitress was super nice, answered all our questions and made our visit great. It was our first time visiting the U.P. I grew up in Erie, PA and ate walleye all the time as a child but after I retired from the USAF I ended up in upstate South Carolina.

Service was amazing. Nice variety of beer on tap. Smokehouse Mac N Cheese was so good and the Cheddar Ale Soup was ridiculous. Absolutely the would recommend you give them a try.

Some of the best ribs I have ever had. Excellent beer (and root beer) brewed on site as well. The sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter are addictive. Fun place to stop in the southern UP

I recently visited Hereford & Hops Steakhouse and Brewery at 624 Ludington Street in Escanaba, MI. I was overwhelmed with its location in I believe was a hotel. The interior was beautiful and the bar itself was awesome..I ordered the cheeseburger and it was delicious. Many other choices to try. The beer made on site was awesome. Kudos to the brewmaster.

I have lived in Escanaba most my life and have been gone for 4 years. Came back to visit family and took all of them out to H&H for dinner. Way over priced now. The grill had no meat or fish or even sauces to do a stir fry and it was 6pm, which to me is prime time for dinner. Should have known since only one table had people when we walked in. The chili was $6.25 and was not even a cup full. The salad had white tomatoes, not even ripe! Had to have them bring out three sweet potatoes and I included a photo of it, black! Steak had to be sent back way under cooked, ordered medium and came out rare. The steak photo was order at medium rare and came out well past medium. My aunt who still lives here warned me that they stopped coming here over a year ago due to the food being so bad for the price! Should have listened!!! Will never come back.
