L’Ittiturismo Mella si trova nel borgo di San Giovanni, frazione di Bellagio a soli 1.5 km dal centro. L’ attività di famiglia unisce la pesca professionale alla ristorazione dal 1958. La specialità è infatti il pesce di lago. Dal 2010 offriamo anche la possibilità di pernottamento sul lago nei nostri appartamenti indipendenti.

This was a charming seafood restaurant a bit outside of the Bellagio center in an area called San Giovanni. The menu is pretty straight forward—they offer an array of a la carte fish dishes and tasting menu. We did the tasting menu where they offered four mini starters, a main course of the lake fish, a second course and a dessert choice of lemon sorbet or coffee.
The dishes here are incredibly traditional and innovative—a stark difference of what you might experience in the center of Bellagio. This is well worth the visit!

It was an absolute pleasure to visit Ittiturismo Ristorante Mella and a complete dream come true for my partner, where we celebrated his 40th birthday with this amazing lunch.
Our whole trip to Italy was centered around finally visiting this restaurant after seeing the episode of Dogs, “Ice on the water” where a passionate fisherman and his beloved side kick Ice captured our hearts.
We were warmly greeted by the staff, the food was outstanding and the view unreal.
We literally ate and chatted and gazed out the window from opening time until closing when everyone had left.
The flavours were out of this world. So fresh and complementary. The fish is literally caught from the lake in the morning and served on your plate at lunch.
I highly recommend the bruschetta and the mixed sharing plate starters. It was so nice to be able to try so many things.
Sincere thanks to Ittiturismo Ristorante Mella for their warm hospitality and making my partners birthday absolutely unforgettable. I’d never seen him so overcome with emotion, joy and gratitude.

A beautiful restaurant in a very pretty village.
We wanted to visit because we loved watching “Ice” on the Netflix show called “Dogs”.
My husband and I met the family and they are just so lovely and welcoming. We went there a year ago for dinner and this year we went back for lunch. We are from Australia. We would definitely go back again next time in Switzerland!
The food is absolutely five star! Delicious and presented so beautifully.

One of the best restaurants we have tried during our trip! The restaurant is cozy and tucked away from the main tourist sites. We came during lunch hour and had the lake fish tasting menu. The starters, main course, and desserts were absolutely phenomenal. Fresh local ingredients that were perfectly seasoned and cooked with awesome service. If we were able to stay in Bellagio longer, we would go back to try their other menu items. Highly recommend you stop by for a visit!

The most amazing fish restaurant! The food is very delicious, service is great, staff is very friendly and welcoming, atmosphere is great and authentic, the view is beautiful, prices are very reasonable. Had the most wonderful experience there! Can’t recommend Ristorante Mella enough. Please make sure to make a reservation. It’s a very popular restaurant.

An excellent restaurant with a beautiful view. The waitresses were both professional and friendly, taking the time to explain the menu options to us. The risotto with pear was great, and every dish was wonderful, although some provided more value than the others. Only the lemon fish was smaller in portion than expected, but overall a delightful meal!

This place was a wonderful discovery, and apparently we got lucky to get a table with no reservation. Their 3-course tasting menu featured fish from Lake Como and was reasonably priced for how delicious it was, and you end with a divine lemon sorbet. You got to taste a lot of different things and the presentation was beautiful. After eating here, we watched the ‘Dogs’ Netflix documentary about this family-run place and love it even more.

Admittedly, my draw to the restaurant came from watching Ice the dog many years ago on Netflix. Our experience here was delightful, with attentive service and fresh flavors in our lunch. We opted for the tasting menu so we could sample many different variations of the fresh lake fish. The risotto was one of my top dishes from my entire Italy trip! Thank you for a great meal and for sharing a bit about your family and history with us.

We can here in the recommendation of our Airbnb host and we are so pleased we did. We reserved for 7:30pm(opening time) and showed up on the dot to secure the table with the best view.
We enjoyed the starter with the mix of lake fish based creations, then we had delicious ravioli, and for mains we shared a grilled lake fish and a steamed lake fish with lemon sauce. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend this place!

Five star food, five star experience, and five star view located in Bellagio. For lunch, they are only open from 1230-1400 and we got so lucky that there was a seat for 2 available (we emailed them 1 hour before opening). If local Italians eat here, you know it’s a good, authentic restaurant. We were sat upstairs close to the big window and had a wonderful view of the lake.
We each ordered the Lake Fish Tasting Menu that comes with:
-Starter with four small bites: fried crunchy fish ball, fried fish fillet, Lake Fish mousse, and marinated Lake Fish
-Main course: Risotto with Lake Fish
-Second course: Lake Como White fish breaded and grilled
-Dessert: Lemon Sorbet
The price (in July 2024) was 42 euros per person and it was a great deal for all the food included. We also enjoyed a bottle of refreshing white wine which I didn’t get the name of.
We heard about this restaurant from the Netflix show called Dogs, featuring Ice, a Golden Retriever who helped his owner fish in Lake Como. We were heartbroken to hear from the owner’s daughter, Gaia, that Ice had passed a few months ago at 15 years old. There were lots of pictures of him all over the restaurant which was so awesome to see!
If you are visiting Bellagio, I highly recommend eating here for authentic seafood. *Make sure to get a reservation beforehand* Shout out to Gaia and Daniella for the wonderful service and providing us with a great experience!
