I’m a good hour drive away, but I absolutely make the trip because this place is so special.
The food, atmosphere and the people really make this place special.

Highly recommended! Everything was amazing for our 37th wedding anniversary dinner. Made reservations and we’re seated on time, great ambiance and outstanding service! The food was delicious and well prepared. The card was signed by several staff and a nice touch. Madison provided great service and checked on us just right. Will definitely return. Thank you!

Montero’s is a hidden gem in the little town of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The atmosphere is classy. The decor is understated and nice. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. The food is fabulous. There are many vegetarian options, seafood, beef, chicken and even pork. The options are diverse. I had Spinach and Mushroom Wellington. The portion was large. I had mashed potatoes as my side. My husband had the crab cakes. He got the larger plate with 2 cakes. His sides were fries and cole slaw. His crab cakes were wonderful. In addition to the yummy food, we had for appetizer. My husband had the vegetarian lumpia. I had the small orange salad. Our experience was great. We were seated immediately when we arrived at opening time (5 p.m.). The restaurant was already filling up. When we left, there were people waiting for a table. Bonus points for super clean bathrooms and lots of parking.

Honestly, I need to frequent this amazing eatery more often. Since we first found it, it was SO SPECIAL we’ve saved it for special occasions. That being said, the staff makes you feel extra special, “almost” better than family LOL. Go now and you’ll see what I mean! Delicious offerings, big portions, attentive waitstaff, fair pricing?! What are you waiting for… They have it all!

We were in the area visiting friends and decided to make a reservation here. They had great reviews and were close to our hotel. Overall 10/10 experience at Montero’s. Food was delicious and quick. 45 minutes from seating to receiving the check. Efficient, but didn’t feel rushed. Everyone was super friendly. Will definitely visit again if we travel back to the area.

Would give 10 stars if I could! The food was AMAZING. We have dietary restrictions (I am vegetarian, and my fiancé has a dairy allergy). There were many dynamic and delicious vegan options, not just salad and fries like other places do. We definitely recommend the cauliflower tacos and the Buckeye pie. The service was phenomenal, too. I made a reservation beforehand and mentioned celebrating our engagement, and we arrived to a sweet signed card. They were understandably busy, so I would recommend making a reservation. Looking forward to coming back!

Came here on July 11th for my wifes birthday and the food was amazing. Shout out to the bartender for the hospitality and drinks which are top notch. For dinner I enjoyed the prime rib dinner and an appetizer of fried cauliflower. My wife had the seafood pasta.

What an AMAZING birthday dinner. Our server, Aidan, and the entire staff were attentive and constantly checked in to see how everything was. The food was unbelievable. I got the special – Peruvian fried pork belly with a caesar salad and the white sangria. Everything was perfect and definitely recommend stopping in for any occasion. Will be back!
