Folksy spot since 1998 with creative, handcrafted burgers, stone-baked pizza & regional craft beers.

Enjoyed the food such as their walleye sandwich and they had a good amount of options but not overwhelming. The place was really cold but it also wasn’t busy since we went between lunch and dinner so hopefully with more people there it’s warmer.

Food came fast server forgot to bring us water. I did not get a straw with my drink. They do not serve Coke products. They serve Pepsi, which is probably the first sign. For the price tag, I would’ve expected better food quality there is no seasoning in the burger. The chili is not seasoned as well and the meat inside of it is not broken up or seasoned as well. It’s more like meatball chunks. The burger was dry and flavorless. The bun was Not toasted. Onion rings were called overall the food lacked a lot of seasoning or flavor the burger like I said was dry even the chicken fingers seemed dry, which is strange. I guess we just expected a little bit more for the price tag on the food. Also, the burgers are only a 6 ounce burger which is seemingly tiny for a $17 or $20 burger. Also extra up charge if I wanted lettuce, tomato or onion on my burger those items are not included and they do not ask for temperature on the burger so you’re just getting what you get Sad to see so many people frequent this area and the cooks clearly have no idea what they’re doing. Server was really nice, but still forgetful of some basic things to start with. Also had to ask for silverware.

Food was excellent! ( see photo) Service was a tad slow for hardly anyone in the restaurant. It was around 2:45 pm. Would definitely go back!!

The food and service were great, but the restaurant was freezing! We ordered a House pizza and pesto chicken sandwich. We pointed a small space heater on the floor toward us, but our food got cold before we could finish it. Would try again for sure on a warmer day. Prices a bit high, but typical for GM.

Don’t order the shrimp dinner. Description states:
Large helping of coconut crusted shrimp, served with fries, homemade coleslaw and cocktail sauce
7 pieces is not a large helping. As well, we sat at the bat and there was an automatic 18% tip added to each bill since we had 6 people.

Excellent choice for our group of friends to enjoy lunch. Our server was excellent. Our food was great. We sat outside which was an enclosed area which was very nice. I had the Wild Rice Salad which was very good. The server asked if I wanted to add chicken (protein) and she let me substituted the breaded white fish and it was delicious. It was a very good experience. Lots of fun antique decorations. Unfortunately, no televisions, which was fine for us.

Love the atmosphere! Especially the sassy little stickers at the bar chairs and all the license plates. It just makes you feel like a great little place you WANT to go to. The food is simply amazing. Even on a busy evening, they never make you feel like your one in a crowd, you are someone special. If you are wanting something specific, ask, they try to work with you. We had a great convo on how pizza sauce varies in different places, and I go to try a taste first…OMG. its so delicious! Really, it is simply the best! I have been there a couple times now. Once in the summer and once in the winter. Better than some of the Twin Cities places I been to.

Overall a good experience. Food was good, typical American bar fare and friendly and knowledgeable table service. The hostess was not the most welcoming, but the waitress made up for that.
We shared cheese curds (very yummy) and chicken wings with dry rub (not the best, they were dry and not super meaty).
The sandwiche (whitefish) and burgers (the Clyde) were good, but nothing special. Especially the mushroom Swiss could’ve used more mushrooms.
Like I said, overall a good experience but not necessarily a place I would recommend to friends.

Was just recapping our latest trip up to the North Shore, and was reminded of our trip here in January. It was worth the drive up from Cove Point Lodge just to eat here – top notch burger, the walleye sandwiches were perfection, and the poutine was great. The standout for us though was the cheddar poblano soup – it still comes up in conversation at least once a week in our house!

Wish I had a bananas for scale folks! This is the fresh fish special and it was worth it. Whitefish was the fresh caught choice and this fillet was huge and delicious. Sweet potato fries and a side of the siracha ranch was a great compliment. Multiple meals around the table and concensus was great food and excellent portions! Highly recommend
