Stopped by this local diner and was greeted with the warm hospitality you’d expect from a little town feel. Their fried pork chops are delicious, the okra is fresh and the ranch is homemade. A very quaint and tasty spot to come to if you’re in the area. The corn bread is a little on the dry side, and the corn nuggets are a bit tough. That aside, service is fast, atmosphere is nice and food is better than you’d get at a fast food restaurant. Definitely give it a try!

Northgate Diner is a great classic diner that gets the basics right. The food came out hot, fast, and portioned generously—exactly what you want from a diner. I had a breakfast plate and everything was cooked well, from the eggs to the hash browns, and the coffee stayed refilled without having to chase anyone down. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere felt comfortable and local, not touristy. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get. Easy place to recommend for a casual, filling meal.

We visited the Northgate Diner on a weekday in January 2026. It’s a nice little home town eatery where it was apparent, is a popular place for locals. I think it was apparent that we were not the usual regular customer that frequents Northgate. We were not sore thumb standouts, but it was fairly obvious.
The building is an older block building the looks like it could use some work. But seems fine in most respects. The inside is fairly eclectic, with tables and chairs that basically are totally different from each other. There’s lots of things hanging around to look at while you wait. But it works. It’s basically a local hangout for some vittles.
The ladies who work there seemed friendly. Even though they were fairly busy when we arrived. We had a problem deciding on what to have since there were a lot of good options. It made it more difficult to decided watching the plates passing by to other tables. They all seemed to have large portions overfilling the plates, that looked really good.
The prices seemed reasonable and as I said, they seem to have good sized portions. But here’s my one nit pick. We saw plate after plate with heaping portions go to other tables. But when our order came out, it seemed like both of our meals had plenty of room left over. To us, they didn’t look like the other meals passing by. Unlike most everyone else, we didn’t have a need for a to go box. Maybe it was all our imagination. Ironically, we don’t eat all that much and seem to need them just about everywhere else. Maybe we seemed like folks who were just passing through, rather than folks looking for a new local place to frequent. Either way, it is what it is.
The food was both good and only okay, depending on what it was. I would try something different if and/or when we visited again. But there were also so many options that just looked so good. Maybe if we go back and look more local, things would be better. 🙂
All in all, the Northgate Diner is a typical local eatery that the locals go. It’s not flashy. It’s not a chain. It’s not the easiest place to find unless you know about it. But they are worth a try. I think that they are better than our experience seemed.

This was our first time going. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out was all of 45 minutes. It took 10 minutes to order and receive our food. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. The customer service was quick, very polite and friendly. It’s a cute little mom and pop place that’s also very supportive of other companies. They have different company business cards blown up and advertising on each tile of their ceiling. On the back of our order ticket was a sweet note -“Jesus loves you”- from the waitress.

We love this place. Sometimes I feel like the servers talk about us when we walk in the door but we still go in and eat. Food comes out a little slow but is cooked and maked fresh. I would recommend this restaurant to others. I just wish it stayed open longer…

These are my favorite kind of restaurants just a little place along the road side, but what excellent food. I had a Phillies cheesesteak. It was very great tasting. Frank had chop steak with onions and mashed potatoes. Melt in your mouth goodness. I would highly recommend the place. The staff is very friendly. Just good food.

Awesome place to check out when going for breakfast and lunch. Service done quick and respectfully with the quality of food being awesome and ready to eat. As for the atmosphere, the place is neatly setup towards decoration which is specifically shown during Christmas as of making this review. Done neatly and deserves more reputation for some people to give a try.
