Enjoyed this place so much . The atmosphere was charming very friendly. Staff and owners were very welcoming. Fast service didn’t have to wait too long for reservations. Prices were great. The food was excellent. We had the smoked bratwurst with the potato pancakes, my husband had the pork schnitzel with the mushroom gravy, which was really rich and dark and tasty hunters schnitzel . Reminded me of how my mom used to make it so good potato pancakes with their cucumber salad that is a 10 star.

Vanessa is so friendly and attentive, I like the way she greets guests and recognizes the frequently customer well. Food is good; salty to me which I dont blame on German food, technically these dishes made to pair with good beer. I will come back to try sausage later :p

I came down from Yosemite with a friend and we both had the Schnitzel Hunter style, with potato croquettes and the tuna noodle salad (you have to try this). ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The waitress, Vanessa, was wonderful. We also ordered four more dinners to-go (for some home bound friends) and a total of eight wonderful German beers (two at the restaurant and six to-go for later). The price of $165 (not including a $50 tip) was well worth it.
It was like being at my Grandma Steinfadt’s kitchen table.
I’ll be back.

Absolutely amazing! The Berlin Schnitzel is fantastic, the hollandaise sauce was so creamy and smooth. The potato pancakes are a must-try, either the regular or mini, both are crispy and well seasoned! We ate so much we waddled out of there.
The staff are super nice and welcoming, food came out faster than expected. The atmosphere is very homey and cute.
Honestly can’t wait to come back here and try more things!

My wife and I are enjoying Stockton Restaurant week and went to Waterloo Friday night to enjoy some Schnitzel here at German Guys (actually, more women that ‘guys’ visible). We had a great time. They have offered both outdoor and indoor seating and would have provided additional layers if we wanted to sit outside where many customers were sitting. I walked through theri Biergarten and it’s well protected from the wind (not much last night) and many heaters which made the area feel almost warmer than inside. We ordered a pretzel and some potato pancakes as appitizers, schnitzel and dessert. I ordered the pork w/Hunter (mushrooms w/gravy) and my wife ordered chicken with two different sauces Hunter and Gypsy (tomato cream). I had a bit of the chicken with Gypsy and it was really good as was my port with Hunter. The sides that came with the dinner were well portioned and also very good (Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, Cucumber, Potato Croquettes). I had a wheat bear and we both took our dessert of Black Forest cake home to eat later since the meal was so filling. The staff were attentive and very very nice. The owner came by and we talked a little bit and could see and his passion for his restaurant and the homeland. This meal was better than most when I was in Germany many years ago. We plan on returrning in the early summer for some beer and eats when we can enjoy sitting outside.

Absolutely delicious. I have a picky eater but he loved the schnitzel with gypsy sauce. The potato croquets and the potato pancakes. Everything was on point. It’s a small space inside but also has outdoor seating. If you go in the summer, be prepared to melt outside. They do have industrial fans to help keep you cool and LOTS of good COLD beer. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the bathroom was clean. They also accept reservations.

The food at German Guys is a spectacular experience. The service is amazing, everyone is always so kind. Honestly the best restaurant in town. I was going to take a photo of my food but I ate it too fast.

Went in for lunch, tried a sampler of sausages the curry one was really good as well as the regular sausage. had a pork snitzel with chilli and hollandaise sauce. I think chilli alone would have been better. Good beer . Id go back again.
