Reviews
I do not have a European palate therefore I felt many many dishes were overly salty or not balanced well for my palate. Maybe I’ve had too much Iberian Jamon at this stage. Many of my plates were taken away from me with food still on the plate, and as wasteful as that is, some items I simply did not wish to continue eating.
The dining experience itself was quite lovely in terms of moving through the restaurant and being immersed in different ways
Service was surprisingly a little lacking as servers weren’t sufficiently attentive, to the standard that I would expect of a one star Michelin restaurant anyway. Actually not everyone, but the training of staff was so varied. We usually always tip when we attend Michelin starred restaurants as the service is usually amazing, but this was a rare occasion we felt service didn’t warrant a tip.
My table of two wasn’t able to finish the full course, though this was more due to our own circumstances – traveling had thrown off our appetites – so I wouldn’t consider that a fault of the restaurant. Although, other guests says that they were struggling towards the end as well.
The meal began on a strong note, with dishes that offered interesting textures and flavors. However, as the courses went on, many revolved around a single protein (often fish) paired with sauce. This repetition made the experience feel somewhat flat, and we found ourselves wishing for more variety – whether in texture, acidity, or creativity. Mostly everything was raw fish, that was warmed up with a sauce or technique. At a certain point, I had thought to myself, “Can we please stop with the raw fish and sauce combo. I’m getting sick of this”. This is not the thought to have, and made me fuller sooner.
Overall, while I deeply appreciated the service, I’ve had more memorable experiences at other Michelin-starred restaurants. This one, perhaps, just wasn’t the best match for my taste.
However, while the presentation is visually stunning, the flavors themselves are not particularly memorable or unforgettable. The focus is more on presentation and concept rather than exceptional taste.
The food is superb, all about the product and respecting it with great technique and simplicity.
The service is relaxed, giving you space to enjoy without being overwhelming.
Service and presentation and taste were outstanding.I enjoyed almost everything, only 2 dishes wasn’t to my taste.(line-caught squid and red shrimp)
Here comes the million dollar question: Will I go back there again?
100% yes. Highly recommend.
