Absolutely loved our experience at Mamacita’s on Harrington Street. The food was genuinely excellent. I had the beef nachos and they were hands down the best nachos I’ve ever had. I chose the full portion and it arrived in the biggest cast iron pan I’ve ever seen I definitely couldn’t finish it in one sitting. We also tried the cheesecake churros with ice cream, which were delicious and the perfect way to end the meal.
The atmosphere and energy were amazing, with lots of throwback R&B music playing, which really added to the vibe. Service was great, there was no long wait for the food, and we had such a beautiful table, which made the experience feel extra special.
One small note: we don’t consume alcohol and decided to try the mocktails. We felt that they were quite pricey at R98 each for a relatively small serving in a cocktail glass. For us, it felt a bit steep for the size, so next time we’d probably opt for sodas or sparkling water instead.
Overall, it was such a lovely experience with fantastic food, great service, and an amazing atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back, especially for those nachos.

Had an incredible evening at Mamacitas in Cape Town. From the moment we arrived, the energy of the place was vibrant and fun — the kind of restaurant where you instantly know you’re going to have a great night.
The Palomas were outstanding — fresh, perfectly balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Of course, a few tequila shots followed, which added to the festive Mexican vibe.
The highlight of the food was definitely the pulled beef tacos. Absolutely delicious. The beef was tender, packed with flavor, and served in warm tortillas with fresh toppings that made every bite unbelievably tasty. Easily some of the best tacos I’ve had.
What made the evening even more memorable was the live table magic. Guests were treated to close-up magic right at their tables, which created an atmosphere of laughter, surprise, and pure entertainment throughout the restaurant.
Great drinks, fantastic tacos, lively atmosphere, and unforgettable entertainment — Mamacitas delivers a complete experience, not just a meal.
Highly recommended if you’re in Cape Town and looking for a fun and memorable night out.

Being from Texas we had to get a Mexican Food fix in South Africa and Mamacita’s definitely delivered on our craving.
The atmosphere is buzzy and totally an LA vibe. Think sugar skulls and low rider chic. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
I had a burrito with rice and a salad and it was a massive serving. It was good but a little on the predictable side. Regardless, it was still pretty tasty and hit the spot for my Mexican Food Craving.
The menu here was quite extensive- especially with their drink selection. I don’t drink alcohol, but I was really impressed with their selection of alcohol free options.
Overall, Mamacita’s was a great experience and I’m glad I got to try them. It made for a great afternoon lunch in Cape Town.

This has only been my second time visiting Mamacita’s (different branch) and it was by far my favorite. It was Taco Tuesday and they had some nice specials. The vibe was nice, even down to the music. Would definitely recommend for a date night.

I was here on a hot Tuesday afternoon for drinks and tacos. Was welcomed to my table explaining the specials for that day about mix and match at different tacos for 50 each for a min 3 serving, I went with 2 birria beef and pork and 1 soft taco with ribs which was 60 a piece. Of the 3 pork birria was best followed by beef. I would recommend sticking to hard tacos as soft ones tasted like packaged ones.
Drinks is were a bit of a scary roller coaster experience given the hefty price. Mezcal spicy orange was good and balanced but the pricier signature cocktail called mexican was unbalanced and just had one note called spice and sweet, my palate was numbed and at the end I had to chug it.
Service could have been better as restaurant had 3 to 4 tables occupied, I was served drinks first even when I requested to be served water asap. Probably a bit more training to the staff will help.
All in all a hit and a miss but overall good experience saved by the hard shell birria tacos. Do given them a visit for the birria tacos.

Fantastic experience at Mamciatas! Great atmosphere, perfect location, and really good service. The appetizers weren’t my favourite, but the birria tacos more than made up for it — absolutely delicious. Their margaritas and shots were stunning, truly top tier. I’d highly recommend and would definitely go again.

Good food. Fast service. Had one of he Best cocktails ever, the Lowrider. Their flavored shots are amazing, also some of the best I ever had. If you like Tequila, you will love this place. Thank you for a great evening. Their Buffalo hot sauce is really really good.
