Went for lunch here with coworkers on new years eve. The service was great. We started off with the bruschetta which was great.
We also ordered the chicken parmesan, chicken Alfredo with soup and salads. The server even packed our food. Overall a nice cozy place

My Boyfriend took me out for Valentine’s Day and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere its self was beautiful. I would definitely recommend and would come back! ❤️

Everything was perfect – from the steak and chicken being cooked just right to the tasty sides. I’ve tried a lot of steakhouses recently, but this is the only one that got the doneness exactly the way I like it. The seasoning was spot on, and it was such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly. The spinach artichoke dip we had as an appetizer was perfectly balanced and a great way to start the meal. The steak and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection.

Love wasn’t in the food or much else this Valentine’s Day. We arrived to this dark and dated local eatery ahead of schedule and checked in at the host stand and informed staff of our 8:00 pm reservation and were handed a buzzer… for a reservation. A reservation, I’ll add, that we waited 25 minutes for. A reservation I would have walked out on 15 minutes earlier if my date hadn’t reminded me several times that “it’ll just be a few more minutes”. Our hostess brought us to a booth that hadn’t been cleared or cleaned properly. Someone’s dirty serviette was still on the back of the seat, glasses, cash, and the previous bill were still on the table, but when I asked about wiping the table down I was assured by the hostess the table had been cleaned. It hadn’t. I’m not even slightly impressed, we’re off on the wrong foot, and in a bad mood. On Valentine’s Day…

Anastasia, our server quickly turned the page with her prompt and attentive service. Drinks were ordered and quickly delivered, as was our appetizer. We went with the goat cheese and enjoyed that very much. Our food orders were taken and after a bit of a wait, understandable for the day, our food arrived. Everything looked good, but things aren’t always as they seem. My date ordered the pork and lamb chops. While the lamb was delicious, the pork lacked seasoning. The cook on both cuts was undeniably good. The saving grace. I wish I could say the same for my sea bass. Ugh! Overcooked, tough, and dry! Honestly, I feel bad for the fish! The lemon caper sauce was nice, but unfortunately the fish was beyond redemption. We passed on dessert. No fault to the wait staff, they were all great. Shamefully, the rest of the staff didn’t seem to have any trouble at all throwing them under the bus!

Live and learn. I learned that I won’t be back.

Food was nothing special, some dishes were bad. Don’t order the french onion soup, and the mashed potatoes were very very garlicky. The Caprese salad was good. Our server was kind and friendly, but the kitchen took a really long time to cook the food. We had a reservation but they took 15 minutes to seat our party.

We stopped at Jimmy’s Charhouse on our way to an event in Waukegan on 1/9/26. As we have eaten at the Elgin location and have had great results, we were expecting the same at this location.

Boy were we wrong. I ordered to BBQ Como Trio and my husband ordered the Grecian Pork Chops. Both our entrees were overcooked and dry. Even the sauces that were on both plates could not help with the tough, dry meat. And the sauce on the pork chops had an overpowering garlic taste which stayed with my husband all night long.

As always, we bring half our meals home to enjoy the next day. Unfortunately we ended up throwing everything away as it was so bad. Spent $100.74 for (2) cocktails, an appetizer and (2) entrees. We would have been better off at a different place.

I love Jimmy’s Charhouse. The staff is very friendly, professional and attentive. The food was very delicious. This is probably my 4th time back. I decided to bring my husband for his first time on his bday. He enjoyed it. He got the ribeye, very good size and price! And i got the chicken brochettes. I love this dish! I cannot stop ordering it. The rice is so fluffy and flavorful! Both the ribeye and chicken had that amazing char flavor. Really nice chill atmosphere here. Relaxing. Dim lights, good drinks, and not over the top, just a great place over all. I will be returning many more times. One of my favorite local places now.

my opinion… OMG what once was a great local restaurant is a HARD NO!!! Made a reservation for 6pm 12/26/25 for a “nice” date night and was seated at table 10. If they try to seat you at this booth ask for another. Right in front of the broiler where they cook steaks.. so it was hot and loud. The servers were busy walking back and forth which further added to the distractions and noise
DRINKS… old fashion sweet had no bitters. Diet coke with lime but was told I couldn’t have a paper napkin under it because there wasn’t alcohol in it… Really ?
APPETIZER.. cold mushy crabcakes with a bland sauce. Yuck
Baked French onion soup served hot but the entire saucer was full of soup.. and just messy! Salad.. nothing fancy bland blue cheese dressing that was forgotten at drop off. What really was BAD? My main entree. Menu stated 2… 8oz pork chops. Combined they weren’t even 8 ounces! Very thin fatty and overcooked. What should have been 160z/even 14 after cooking and approximately 3/4 to an inch in size were absolutely under sized which then means we were over charged and or didn’t receive what was clearly stated on the menu!!!!
served Grecia style which was a laddie of lemon oil and garlic. Too much and flavors didn’t blend. Immediately taken off!!
Over cooked baked potato sour cream forgotten upon drop off. No steak knife was provided so my husband had to get up…find a person to get them. (waitress got a new table) his 3… 3oz medallions were good but I would say they were closer to 2 oz each.
GARLIC mashed potatoes had so much GARLIC they were over powering!
By this time I was completely DONE. we boxed our leftovers and got the check. We paid in cash. 2 100.00 bills… we were given the wrong change by 50.00 and both immediately brought it to our servers attention. Yes it was corrected but just something we shouldn’t have to experience. NEVER going back and seriously feel scammed by the portions of entrees. Waitress was trying to be friendly which quickly turned into oops I’m sorry x 5… to how did you want your steak cooked well after we ordered. 6 times being asked if I wanted another diet coke and being asked twice if we wanted the middle or end of the bread. I get it… but every interruption stopped our conversation and was just too much. Cannot recommend and really wish we didn’t waste our money and time. Do better!
